Second Syrian Forum kicks off in Raqqa

Today, the Democratic Union Party organized the second Syrian forum in the Arid al-Sayida Hall in the city of Raqqa, under the title “The Historical Strategy for Kurdish-Arab Relations According to the Perspective of Leader Abdullah Ocalan".

The forum was attended by members of the Democratic Union Party in Raqqa, Tabqa, Manbij, and Kobani, the co-chair of the Democratic Union Party, Saleh Muslim, members of the Future Syria Party, the Conservative Party, the Syrian National Social Party, human rights activists from NE Syria, and members of the Zenobia Women’s Assembly Council and the Syrian Women’s Council.

The CEO of the Syrian Democratic Council, Elham Ahmed, and a number of independent male and female politicians from inside Syria, tribal sheikhs and notables from Deir ez-Zor, Manbij, Raqqa, Tabqa, and male and female representatives of the Autonomous Administration also participated in it.

The forum began with a minute of silence in honor of the souls of the martyrs, then the co-chair of the Democratic Union Party, Saleh Muslim, spoke about the reasons for holding the forum and its importance, and said: “We need a lot of frankness, and today’s forum’s topic depends in particular on monopolies of power and strategic relations".

Saleh Muslim pointed out, "The Middle East suffered under the Ottoman occupation for 4 centuries, and when the national state was established, French and British colonialism used it to strike the Ottoman Empire and they established the Turkish and Persian national states, and did not call for the establishment of the Kurdish state".

He stressed, "We must look at what has passed on how to develop; it is a path we follow, but sound ideas remain good and we benefit from them in our reality, and i believe that we are all concerned with building the strategy for Kurdish-Arab relations. Therefore, it is our duty to work to create an ethical political society, and this can only be achieved through the democratic nation project proposed by Leader Abdullah Ocalan".

This was followed by a recorded speech by the Commander-in-Chief of the SDF, Mazloum Abdi, in which he stressed the importance of holding the forum in light of what the country and NE Syria are going through.

The forum will include several topics: It is the history of Kurdish relations in Syria and the history of Kurdish relations in the Middle East, and the second axis will include the strategic role of Arab-Kurdish relations in resolving the Syrian crisis, and the importance of the Arab-Kurdish agreement in resolving the current crises in the Middle East.
