Turkish ambitions and continuing military attacks in Iraq

Turkey takes a hostile approach towards Iraq and works to violate its sovereignty from time to time, without paying attention to strongly worded statements of denunciation, denunciation and protest, which are often met with disregard by the Turkish side, which creates pretexts to continue the shedding of Iraqi blood in various northern regions.

Turkey continues its open war against Iraq militarily, economically, despite meetings between political parties, “friendly” meetings between the authorities of Baghdad and Ankara, and giant projects, especially in the economic field.

While Iraqi sources revealed a Turkish plan to expand in Iraq through Nineveh, Kirkuk, and Diyala, all the way to Baghdad, political analyst Haitham Al-Khazali says, regarding the attacks and policies of the occupying Turkish state in Iraq, that “Turkey has ambitions in Iraqi lands, especially Mosul and the lands of Kurdistan and Kirkuk, where the oil deposits are.” and gas, and because Turkey does not recognize the Mosul State referendum in 1924, according to which it joined the Mosul State and its dependencies from the regions of Kurdistan, and it still aspires to occupy these regions again.”

Al-Khazali added to ANHA's agency, “Iraq, as a central government or the regional government, has not done enough to deter Turkey, and it must resort to international courts, and use trade papers... and others to put pressure on Turkey.”

He stressed that "the lack of a system capable of protecting the Iraqi sky means more violations and attacks, and the repeated bombing that occurs in the Kurdistan region is the result of the lack of a system that puts an end to the violation of national sovereignty by Ankara."

The political analyst explained that "the position that deters Turkey is the unity of the Iraqi political blocs, and the gradual use of legal and diplomatic means to armed defense."

What is noteworthy is that Turkey, which does not stop its feverish endeavors and efforts to weaken Iraq, declare its right to Mosul and Kirkuk, and declare its ambitions to restore the glories of the Ottoman Empire, is day after day strengthening and strengthening its relations with Israel.

So, what encouraged Turkey to persist in its violations and transgressions is the weak official Iraqi position, which does not go beyond issuing statements of denunciation and condemnation, summoning the Turkish ambassador, and handing him a strongly worded note of protest, not to mention similar statements and statements by various political forces and figures, which Ankara knows full well will not exceed the limits of speech. Even more than that, there are political parties and forces that support, support and encourage, in one way or another, Ankara's violations and transgressions against Iraqi national sovereignty.
