Security tension in Hasaka develops into clashes

ANHA correspondent in the city of Hasaka reported that the security square under the control of the Damascus government in the city is witnessing intermittent clashes with light and medium weapons, between National Defense mercenaries and security forces.

Citing eyewitnesses who were displaced from the security square area to the neighborhoods administered by the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria, the clashes came after the security tension that has prevailed in the square since yesterday, as a result of the control of the National Defense mercenaries over the automated bakery called “March 8” near the Mosque. Al-Farouq, and the attempt of the security forces to recover it and control two points belonging to the leader of the National Defense mercenaries, Abdel Qader Hamo, that manufacture narcotic pills near the Oasis Park in the center of the city.

Others reported to ANHA correspondent that the leader of the National Defense Mercenaries had equipped 400 armed men to defend the two aforementioned points, and another point for them near the railway.

Yesterday, private sources reported to ANHA correspondent that defections had occurred in the ranks of the National Defense mercenaries, while members of the Damascus government took control of four National Defense points.

The sources explained: "The security square area has been witnessing a security alert for two days, amid defections in the ranks of the National Defense mercenaries, and the house of one of their leaders called Abdel Qader Hamo has been besieged."

According to the same sources, at 03:00 on Wednesday night, the so-called Abdel Qader Hamo blew up an underground tanker to break the siege on his house, but the siege and tension continue.

The city of Hasaka witnessed security tension between the Jabour tribe and the National Defense mercenaries on August 13, against over of the so-called Abdul Qadir Hamo’s attack on one of the tribe’s notables.
