SDF publish an update regarding the "Security Enhancement" operation

The Syrian Democratic Forces indicated that they are taking measures to pursue armed groups that infiltrated the honorary countryside of Deir ez-Zor from the western bank of the Euphrates, and that equipment was sent by groups affiliated with the Damascus government in an attempt to cause strife, and confirmed the continuation of the process of “Security Enhancement” for its tasks under the leadership of the Deir ez-Zor Military Council.

The Media Center of the Syrian Democratic Forces issued an update regarding the ongoing “Security Enhancement” operation in Deir ez-Zor.

Meanwhile, the forces indicated that armed groups were mobilizing to attack the Syrian Democratic Forces in the eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor, where equipment was sent by security forces “affiliated with the Syrian regime” yesterday evening in an attempt to cause civil strife.

At the same time, the forces thanked the people of the region for cooperation and called not to be drawn in behind the voices calling for sedition.

The text of the update published on the official website of the SDF stated:

Our forces are taking additional measures to pursue armed groups that infiltrated villages in the eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor from the western bank of the Euphrates River, and those groups began mobilizing to attack our forces in the villages of the eastern countryside, where the equipment was sent by security agencies affiliated with the Syrian regime yesterday evening in an attempt to cause Civil strife serves its agenda, including pressures and threats against notables in the region from those parties.

Our forces confirm that the ongoing “Security Enhancement” operation in Deir ez-Zor was launched based on the demands of the people and notables of the region, as the forces informed the sheikhs and notables of the region in advance of the operation and its objectives.

While we thank our people in the region for cooperating with the forces of the operation, we call on everyone not to be drawn in behind the voices calling for sedition, from which only the external parties that lurk in the region will benefit in light of the increasing activity of terrorist cells.

We affirm that the forces of Operation "Security Enhancement", led by the Deir ez-Zor Military Council, will continue their tasks in pursuing ISIS terrorist cells and criminal elements, led by infiltrators from the areas west of the Euphrates.
