Jordan announces shooting down of drone coming from Syria

The Jordanian army announced that its forces shot down a drone coming from Syrian territory.

The Jordanian army said in a statement today, that it had shot down a drone coming from Syria.

The official statement, quoting a responsible military source, stated that: "The Border Guard forces, in coordination with the Drug Control Department and the military security services, detected an attempt to illegally cross the border from Syrian territory to Jordanian territory by a drone, and it was shot down inside Jordanian territory".

And added that it had shot down the drone in his territory, but he did not mention what it was carrying.

Officials had recently uncovered arms and drug smuggling operations using drones.

On August 16, the Jordanian army shot down a drone loaded with explosive materials coming from Syrian territory, according to the Jordan News Agency (Petra).

And on August 13, the Jordanian army announced that it had shot down a drone, which was used in an attempt to smuggle the narcotic substance "crystal" from Syria to Jordan.
