Against the background of the air attack by a Turkish drone belonging to the Turkish occupation state, on the JIN TV crew, on Wednesday (August 23), which led to the martyrdom of a member of the satellite channel, Najm al-Din Faisal, and the serious injury of the reporter, Dalila Akid, female administrators in the channel talked about the goals of these attacks.

JIN TV presenter, Samia Al-Kurdi, at the beginning of her interview with ANHA's agency, offered deepest condolences to the families of the martyr Najm Al-Din Faisal, and wished a speedy recovery for their colleague, Dalila Akid.

And she stressed that the targeting, which she described as cowardly (the Turkish attack on their crew), "will only increase our determination and strength, to complete our path with greater struggle, and to communicate the voice of women and the truth to the whole world."

'Targeting the press to cover up its crimes'

According to international laws and charters, it is not permissible to target the media in any way, but the Turkish occupation state targets media workers. With the aim of covering up its crimes, terrorism and violations against humanity, as noted by the broadcaster Samia Al-Kurdi.

She said, "This attack on our channel reveals the truth about the Turkish occupation, which seeks to undermine the achievements of women. it is afraid of confronting us, so it resorts to dirty methods similar to its dirty history."

Article 79 of the Additional Protocol to the 1949 Geneva Convention for the Protection of Civilians in Military Conflicts stipulates that civilian journalists who perform their duties in areas of armed conflict “must be respected and treated as civilians.” It also indicates that they must be protected from every form of deliberate attack.

The announcer on JIN TV, noted Turkey's global reputation for targeting female and male journalists, both inside and outside Turkey, and said: "Since the beginning of the revolution in North and East Syria to this day, the Turkish occupation state has targeted male and female journalists, this is not the first time that media workers have been targeted."

Women's organization is a threat to the male authoritarian regime

Samia Al-Kurdi saw all the attacks and crimes committed against women by patriarchal regimes serving the same goal. And she indicated that the state and capitalist regimes seek to preserve their entity by committing the most egregious crimes against women leaders and journalists, "This proves the extent of their fear of the strength and will of organized women seeking to enhance their energies and capabilities to achieve their aspirations for freedom, peace and democracy, and to make their voices known to the world, which these regimes see as a threat." A real threat to her authority and mentality."

Targeting the democratic project

For her part, the administrator of JIN TV, Samia Hosni, indicated that the Turkish occupation continues its systematic practices against the democratic project, "which was translated on the ground by the vanguard of women and their sacrifices," by repeatedly targeting women and the gains of their revolution.

The targeting of the JIN TV crew comes, as confirmed by Samia Hosni, "to silence the voice of the truth, and those who work to expose their crimes in North and East Syria."

She also made it clear that the Turkish occupation is working to intimidate the people of North and East Syria and evacuate the region from its residents through its attacks, saying: "Turkey occupies some Syrian regions, and destabilizes the security of our regions in an effort to occupy them as well, as it seeks to change the demographics and break the will of the people."

The two JIN TV members held the international community and human rights organizations fully responsible for what is happening "crimes committed against the people and leaders in North and East Syria," and called on humanitarian and human rights institutions to break their silence and fulfill their responsibilities regarding these crimes, and not to be "accomplices of the Turkish occupier in killing the people."

They renewed the pledge to raise the pace of struggle alongside male and female media professionals and everyone who represents the voice of truth "to expose all practices and crimes committed by the Turkish occupation state and its mercenaries."
