3 members of the Damascus government forces were killed and 8 others were wounded; As a result of the attack carried out by ISIS mercenaries on an ammunition depot in the Palmyra area in the eastern countryside of Homs after midnight Monday - Tuesday, the death toll is expected to rise due to the presence of seriously injured people, according to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights.

This comes in light of the significant escalation of ISIS operations against the Damascus government forces in the Syrian desert, where the past few days witnessed the occurrence of 3 other bloody attacks, in which members of the Damascus government forces were targeted, killing dozens of them.

In a report published on Monday, United Nations experts warned that ISIS still commands between 5,000 and 7,000 members in its former strongholds in Syria and Iraq.
