PYD congratulates people on the occasion of August 15 leap

The Democratic Union Party (PYD) congratulated the Kurdish people and the peoples of Mesopotamia on the 39th anniversary of the August 15 leap, through a written statement.

The party recalled the martyrs of the August 15 leap, and its leader, Agid (Masoum Korkmaz).

The statement considered the leap of August 15 as the result of a struggle since Newroz 1973, the resistance of Amed prison in 1982, and the great sacrifices that were made in the face of the enemies of the Kurdistan people.

The statement added, "The first bullet is important, and no less important of the thought, philosophy, and motivation that pulled the trigger to announce the beginning of a new path for a new life 'Resistance is life'".

And noted that the August leap was not just an announcement of the beginning of an armed struggle, as it is a historical turning point in the life path of the Kurdish people and the peoples of Mesopotamia in terms of thinking, approach, and practice in the fields of struggle, culture, and adherence to human and democratic values.

In its statement, the Democratic Union Party (PYD) pledged to the martyrs and leader Abdullah Ocalan, to stick to their approach and be guided by their struggle until achieving what they fought and are fighting for, which is the achievement of peoples' freedom and coexistence according to the concept of a democratic nation.
