Manbij people proved that they have strong will in repelling foes

The spokesman for the Manbij Military Council, Shervan Darwish, explained, during an exclusive interview with ANHA's agency, on the occasion of the seventh anniversary of the liberation of the city of Manbij from ISIS mercenaries: "Certainly seven years ago were full of achievements. Before the launch of the campaign and with the establishment of the Manbij Military Council, we had promised our people in Manbij We will liberate it, and we will make Manbij a model city for coexistence and co-existence of the components, and a stable Syria. During these years, we have come a long way in this field, and the general reality in Manbij confirms that."

Shervan Darwish added, "On the other hand, those who must be remembered and emphasized on their importance are the martyrs who sacrificed in order to liberate and protect Manbij."

Darwish pointed out: "ISIS practices against the people of Manbij and the scale of the crime committed in Manbij led to a cry for the people to liberate them. The Manbij Military Council, along with the Syrian Democratic Forces, responded to this call, and during two and a half months of fierce battles, we announced the liberation of the area, and we handed over Its management of the Civil Council from day one, so that the people can run themselves.”

He emphasized that Darwish: "This stage was not easy, as there were always threats in all forms; of invasion, aerial bombardment, and targeting along the front lines. During these years, the sound of war in the vicinity of Manbij did not subside, and the achievements that were made were in addition to hearing the sound of war drums. And the people of Manbij have proven that they are people of will and stand by their military forces and deserve life.”

He added, "On the other hand, and in the face of these challenges and threats, we, the Manbij Military Council, have reached an advanced stage of preparations. We know that we have great challenges ahead. The land that was liberated with the blood of the martyrs will need blood to protect it, and on this basis we created a good defense structure of training, organizing, and establishing forces." The defense structure is alongside our people, for we certainly have our preparations that make the enemies fear taking any step against the people of Manbij and their will."

We answered the call

Shervan Darwish explained, "The liberation of Manbij was based on the call of the people, and we answered the call. Since then, we have been facing all these challenges together. We have overcome many attempts by the enemies who, whenever they failed in their military attacks, resorted to instigating unrest and confusion internally, and seeking to sow discord, as well as the standard of living in Syria as a whole after 12 years of war.

The spokesman for the Manbij Military Council said: "Our message to the people is more solidarity and struggle, as we still have a long way to go, because the enemies are still working and fighting our people for a living and cutting off even water, so we have no way but to unify efforts and solidarity, and more struggle and organization." Our people stand by their military forces, and we are confident that they will stand by them in the future, because the guarantee of our living and our freedom is this solidarity and this unity.

He added, "Certainly, we, on our part, established this structure, and this interdependence and union that exists in Manbij has thwarted all previous attempts, and I am confident that it will fail the next attempts as well. On this basis, we thank the people of Manbij for what they have previously presented, and we affirm that together we will reach freedom and overcome this stage and break Plans of enemies and occupiers.

Shervan Darwish pointed out: "During these years we were able to establish military forces with experience, and as everyone knows, the Manbij Military Council forces fought all battles against ISIS in Tabqa and Raqqa up to al-Baghouz, and they have great experience in fighting, and during these years we were able, through academies and the existing training experiences, raising the readiness of our forces at all levels, in terms of organization, armament, and defense infrastructure. We are confident that we will be worthy of the sacrifices that have been made, and our resistance will be great if anyone dares to do anything against us."
