Settlement of 24,000 people in Girê Spî since April last year

The Turkish authorities have recently accelerated the forced deportations of Syrian refugees from Turkish territory towards the Syrian regions, the occupied areas witnessed the arrival of thousands of forcibly deported Syrians since the beginning of this year, coinciding with the Turkish state's implementation of its settlement policy in cooperation with "Pakistani, Chechen and other Gulf" associations, as part of a scheme aimed at settling them in the homes of the displaced people.

ANHA agency documented, during the last three months, the arrival of about 2,000 people among the relatives of its mercenaries, and Syrian refugees whom Turkey forcibly deported from its lands to the occupied Girê Spî / Tel Abyad canton through the Girê Spî border gate, about 500 refugees, during the first 4 days of this August. Most of them are from the cities (Hama, Aleppo, Idlib and other Syrian cities).

According to a local source from the occupied canton, they are being settled in the homes of those forcibly displaced from their homes by the occupation, in each of the canton's center and its affiliated towns and villages (Suluk, Hammam al-Turkman, Ali Bajilia, and Karmazat).

ANHA agency had previously documented building 3 settlements in the occupied canton and its countryside in each of (Eastern Tal Abyad, Ain Al-Arous, and the land of the Armenian Jacob in Al-Ali Bajlia).

ANHA agency documented, within one year of the Turkish authorities’ announcement, in early April of last year, the deportation of one million refugees to the occupied areas of Syria, the deportation of more than 22,000 people to the occupied Girê Spî canton.

ANHA agency also obtained, through a local source from the occupied province, information that 10 Iraqis entered the batch that Turkey entered through the border gate on August 4.

Dozens of ISIS families fled Ain Issa camp during the Turkish attack in 2019, and settled in Al-Lail and Al-Iskan neighborhoods in the center of Girê Spî canton.

The Girê Spî Canton Council has warned more than once of the dangers of this policy and its effects on changing the demographics of the occupied canton.

The Girê Spî Canton Council documented that the attack and the occupation of the canton caused displacement of more than 100,000 residents of the canton, and they currently live in the cities of Raqqa and Tabqa and its countryside, including 6,844 in the camp for the displaced Girê Spî, which was established on November 22, 2019, near the village of Girê Spî.

The displacements from the occupied canton have not stopped, as dozens of families are periodically displaced from the occupied canton towards the Autonomous Administration areas due to the crimes committed by the Turkish occupation army and its mercenaries in those areas.
