Mulla Nawaf: Leader's isolation is barbaric act, people must struggle to end it

The intellectual, Bashir Mulla Nawaf, described the isolation imposed on the leader Ocalan as a barbaric act, and pointed out that the positions taken towards isolation are insufficient and called on peoples and democratic movements to struggle to end it.

The intellectual and writer Bashir Mulla Nawaf spoke to ANHA agency about the strict isolation imposed on the leader Abdullah Ocalan and the threatening messages delivered to him by the Turkish occupation state and the Imrali prison administration.

Mulla Nawaf highlighted the relationship of the Treaty of Lausanne with the arrest of the leader Abdullah Ocalan by saying: "The Treaty of Lausanne proved that Kurdistan is an international colony, and this was practically confirmed by the arrest of the leader Abdullah Ocalan. Leader Ocalan's ideas give strength to the people, so the Kurdish people are struggling today against The most extreme occupying power, the PKK can move according to the requirements of the stage by participating in the changes and transformations that the world is witnessing, and this is one of the elements that allowed it to continue."

Mulla Nawaf referred to the continued isolation imposed on the leader Abdullah Ocalan by saying: "Isolation is imposed because the conspiratorial forces realize that the leader Ocalan has philosophical and social ideas and deep historical knowledge. His ideas have become the key to resolve the Kurdish issue, the situation in Turkey and all the peoples of the region."

Mulla Nawaf explained that the leader Ocalan has completed his public message so isolation will fail in achieving their goals. and added, "Isolation is an immoral act, and in my opinion, isolation is a barbaric act (outside proper behavior) and is not based on international laws and social standards.

Bashir Mulla Nawaf considered that the current positions against isolation are insufficient and stressed the need for peoples and democratic movements to review themselves regarding the issue of leader Ocalan,: "Isolation is based in its essence on isolating societies and peoples calling for freedom and democracy, foremost among them the Kurdish people."

Who is Bashir Mulla Nawaf?

Bashir Mulla Nawaf, a native of Amouda district of Qamishlo canton in NE Syria. He was born in 1956. He got acquainted with the Kurdish liberation movement in Bakur Kurdistan in 1979. Then he met the leader Abdullah Ocalan in 1992. He met him again in 1996.

In 1998, he went on a hunger strike in his home in Amouda district to denounce the plot that was hatched against the leader Ocalan and he personally participated in it. He is now the member of the Intellectuals Union of Jazera region and the professor of Kurdish language and literature at the University of Rojava.
