YPG:Turkish occupation targets comrades, leaders defeated ISIS mercenaries

The Media Center of YPG issued a written statement, revealing the record of 4 of the  leaders and fighters, who were martyred in the bombing of a drone of the Turkish occupation state on Qamishlo.

The statement read:

"The attacks of the occupying and fascist Turkish state continue day after day on NE Syria. It deliberately targets our villages and cities indiscriminately in an attempt to destabilize the region, and in conjunction with the international silence regarding these attacks, the Turkish occupation state takes advantage of this silence and increases the pace of its attacks. In The third day of August, coinciding with the ninth anniversary of the Şengal massacre, a car was targeted in the village of Haram Shekho in Qamishlo canton, where 4 of our commanders and 2 of our fighters were martyred."

After the outbreak of the civil war in Syria in 2011, during which the Kurdish people began to build a self-defense system in Rojava, where our comrade Diyar, who was born and raised in Qamishlo, participated in the struggle for the freedom of his people, following in the footsteps of a brother and sister who had previously joined the ranks of struggle. As he was one of our first comrades who participated in various ways, whether secret or public, in the organizational work for the launch of the July 19 revolution. In 2013, during our war to repel the attacks of Jabhat al-Nusra mercenaries, our comrade Diyar took his place on the fronts of Tal Alo and Serêkaniyê. He also participated in the campaigns to liberate the towns of Tel Hamis and Tel Brak, and during ISIS attacks on Şengal, he went first to Jazaa, and then to Şengal, during which he played his historical role in liberating our Yazidi people. In the military campaigns that we launched against ISIS, our comrade Diyar played his vanguard role successfully, whether as a fighter or as a commander in the campaigns to liberate Al-Shaddadi, Suluk, Tal Tamr, Hasaka, Manbij and finally in Deir Ezzor.

Our comrade Orhan, known among his comrades as Aram, was born into a patriotic family in Qamishlo. With the outbreak of the July 19 Revolution, he took his first leap towards a new life. The Rojava revolution, which affected the region first and then the whole world, has become a target for mercenaries supported directly by the Turkish occupation state. Our comrade Orhan always took his place in the front ranks with his comrades to defeat the forces that want to liquidate the gains of the Rojava revolution and occupy the region, and that was during the most difficult times when we resisted the mercenary attacks starting from Serêkaniyê and passing through the defeat of ISIS in Deir Ezzor.

 While our comrade Orhan joined the campaigns to liberate many of our cities and towns during which he was wounded in the city of Tal Tamr in 2015, and despite his serious injury, he did not hesitate to struggle against the occupation forces, and he was always side by side with his comrades in the war. He once again participated more actively in the revolution, as he continued his training and deepened more intellectually and militarily in the midst of the war, and in this way he participated more effectively in the campaigns to liberate the region from ISIS mercenaries. Again in 2017, he lost his arms and a leg during the campaign to liberate Raqqa, but he did not deviate from struggle and struggle even an inch. After the end of his treatment, our comrade Orhan, despite being war-wounded, realized the responsibilities entrusted to him to make more sacrifice and struggle than before.

Our comrade Karzan, who grew up in a patriotic family in Qamishlo, joined our ranks in 2013, and after completing his ideological and military training, he got involved in the fierce battles that we were fighting against the mercenaries. At the beginning of 2014, he was able to get his first experiences in the war by participating in the campaign to liberate Tel Brak.

Later, he developed his combat experience by repelling mercenary attacks on Tal Maarouf and al-Shaddadi, until he reached professionalism within the campaign to liberate the city of Manbij from ISIS, where he struggled in various fields since 2016, during which he was able to join the specialization courses. He was smart and skilled in war, and this was evident when he joined to receive training, and he was able to pass it with all merit.

As for our comrade Hiwa, he was born in the city of Raqqa and grew up in a patriotic Kurdish family, and in 2013 his family was forced to move to the city of Qamishlo, as they did not want to live in the city of Raqqa, which was under the control of Jabhat al-Nusra and ISIS mercenaries at the time. Our comrade Hiwa joined the ranks of our forces in 2014 with the aim of combating the brutality of ISIS, where he participated during 6 years in many campaigns to defeat this terrorist organization, such as the campaigns to liberate Tel Hamis, Hasakah, Serêkaniyê, Tal Abyad, Tishreen Dam, Manbij, Al-Raqqa, and Al-Tabqa And all the way to the campaign to liberate Deir Ezzor. At every step of his struggle, he used his comradely spirit and courage as a modern fighter as a method for shaping his character.

On this basis, once again, we promise our four heroic comrades and leaders to avenge them and follow in their footsteps to build a free future for the peoples of the region.
