​​​​​​​Younis: failure of UNICEF negotiations with Turkish occupation regarding Alouk water station

This came during a special statement by the co-chair of the Water Directorate in Hasaka Canton, to the official website of the Autonomous Administration, Issa Younis, who confirmed that "the negotiations that took place by UNICEF failed due to the hostile Turkish state policy, as securing drinking water became an obstacle to the Autonomous Administration and the citizens, due to the high cost coinciding with the rise in the price of the US dollar against the Syrian Lira, in addition to appealing to the international community and the responsible international parties to intervene to end the suffering of the people of Hasaka".

Younis added, "The high temperatures during the current summer season have led to an increase in the suffering of citizens in securing drinking water, as a result of the Turkish occupation's policy of cutting off water from the Alouk station to achieve its goals of displacing the people of the region and thwarting the Autonomous Administration project".

Issa Younis noted that "the Alouk station was the main source of drinking water in the city, and after Turkey occupied the city of Sere Kaniye / Ras al-Ain and cut off the water from the station, surface wells were relied on, which led to a decrease in the water level and an increase in the burdens of the city's residents and its districts in securing water.
