Al-Assad: Some neighboring countries supported terrorism and making Syrians and Iraqis thirsty

Bashar al-Assad and Iraqi Prime Minister Muhammad Shia al-Sudani held a press conference, following their talks in Damascus today, Sunday.

Al-Assad considered during a joint press conference with the Iraqi Prime Minister that Iraq stood by Syria during the war, which he described as "terrorist".

He criticized Turkey without naming it, saying, "Some neighboring countries have been directly involved in supporting terrorism, either for expansionist reasons or ideological reasons, in addition to the biggest challenge, which is the theft of Syria and Iraq's share of the waters of the Euphrates rivers, and what this thing means in terms of thirst and hunger".

In turn, Al-Sudani indicated that Iraq is working with all countries supporting stability for Syria's economic recovery and that this is in Iraq's interest, and there is no way to leave Syria alone, pointing out that permanent coordination between the two countries is the best way to face common challenges, especially terrorism and water shortages.
