Derar: our agree with Coordination Committee will contribute in solving Syrian crisis

The Syrian Democratic Council and the National Coordination Committee for the Forces for Democratic Change had reached a document of understanding consisting of 5 principles that include the vision of the two parties to solve the Syrian crisis on June 24.

A few days after the announcement of the document of understanding, the co-chair of the Syrian Democratic Council, Amina Omar, told the media that they are about to announce another document that includes broader details than the first document announced on June 24.

In this context, the co-chair of the Syrian Democratic Council, Riyad Derar, told ANHA's agency, "They (the National Coordination Body for Democratic Change Forces) had a formulation that was agreed to be the first formulation of the points considered by the Coordination Body, and it will be completed with a new paper presented by the SDC, and thus there will be a rectification of all the points are according to the vision of each party, and they are signed and announced.

Regarding the points that will be remedied in the next document, Derar said, "The first document that was issued lacks a clear vision of the Kurdish issue, although the press statement in which Mr. Hassan Abdel-Azim announced a position on the Kurdish issue is in the basis of the documents of the Coordination Body, and we agree with him.

In the same context, he added, "In the first document, there is a reference to the concept of decentralization without clarification, because there are disagreements about the vision for the concept of decentralization that requires us to study and review by both parties in order to reformulate in a way that can serve the future vision for the future Syria, which we see as decentralization, democracy, pluralism, and a formula The decentralization that we are talking about has specific concepts within its framework. The Coordination Committee often talks about administrative decentralization, and we need approaches here.

As for the third point to be discussed in detail in the next document, it is, according to Derar, "the issue of the Syrian army and the inclusion of the SDF in it. We had clarified this in the previous document that was agreed upon with the Coordination Committee, and now it can be reformulated in the understandings again."

Darar did not specify a date for announcing this document, and said, "There are reactions that we await and expect, and therefore we will benefit from these reactions."

Regarding the mechanisms for implementing the document of understanding, Derar stressed that they will work to "engage political forces and promote them among the parties and manage the articles and clauses contained therein for expanded dialogues for a general national agreement."

Derar believed that their agreement with the National Coordination Committee for Democratic Change "could contribute to resolving the Syrian crisis, because the Syrian opposition meeting on a common vision can confront the regime because it will find before it an opposition force that has influence on the scene and on the ground."
