The co-chair of the Executive Council of the Autonomous Administration of NE Syria, Berivan Khaled, spoke within the international forum about the Treaty of Lausanne, the forum was launched today in the city of Hasaka under the title "Lausanne: Correcting Paths and Issues of regional stability and security."

Berivan Khaled said: "A few days, and a hundred years have passed since the ill-fated (Treaty of Lausanne), which was agreed upon and signed on July 24, 1923 in the Swiss city of Lausanne, between international and regional parties, according to which Kurdistan was divided into four parts that were annexed to each of Turkey, Iraq, Syria and Iran, making it one of the most dangerous agreements that were concluded at the expense of the people of the region, including the Kurds, Arabs and Syriacs, and their homeland, which lived on its land for thousands of years.

She added, "This treaty constituted a dark era in the march of the Kurdish people, and she expressed an ugly plot that was formulated by countries that shared influence and control in the last century, so that the Kurdish people would be the biggest victim who was waiting for good at that time from friends who promised for the achievement of freedom and ending tyranny and oppression.

Khaled explained that the "Lausanne Agreement" was and still represents a painful blow to the right of peoples to self-determination, she continued: "Killing and repression machines were unleashed in the countries that divided Kurdistan against all the people of the region, where persecution and enslavement , killing, arrest, displacement, destruction of villages and cities, attempts to erase identity, language and national existence, weakening belonging, striking the will and cultural heritage, and genocide wars such as the Arab belt and the census in Syria, the Anfal and the chemical weapons in Iraq.

She indicated that the "Anadolu's Reform Project was, in fact, a project to smelt everything that is not Turkish in the Turanian crucible by various means, in addition to the targeting of civilians and leaders, especially women leaders, demographic change and the displacement of its indigenous people is "only a Turkish project complementary to the Anadolu's reform project".

The struggle continues

Berivan Khaled stressed that despite this agreement and other conspiracies hatched against the Kurdish people, and the continuous tyrannical practices by the occupying countries of Kurdistan, the Kurdish people did not despair, nor did they back down from their sacred demand for freedom, as they continued to struggle, and she said, "What we see today of the gains and achievements on the ground in Rojava and NE Syria is the most prominent evidence of this struggle and struggle."

"The Autonomous Administration was a response against the ethnic and cultural genocide projects"

Berivan Khaled explained that they hold the countries participating in that agreement the historical and moral responsibility to ensure that these tragedies are not repeated for the Kurdish people and help them to obtain their legitimate rights, as the administration project represents a model of the will of the people for a democratic life according to the foundations of peaceful coexistence and brotherhood peoples, "and it was a response to the projects of ethnic, cultural and national genocide since the Lausanne Agreement to today.

Berivan Khaled added, "These attacks clearly express Turkey's insistence on continuing the Lausanne mentality in its dealings with homelands and peoples and their just causes. Rather, it seeks in various ways to achieve what is greater, more comprehensive and broader than the borders of Lausanne, as it is trying to restore the glories of the Ottoman Empire."

Turkey's occupation of some areas in north and north-eastern Syria, its military interventions in some countries, such as Iraq and Libya, its use of mercenaries and its support for terrorism and terrorists, is only an affirmation of its ambitions to expand and expand.

Call to advocate for the freedom of peoples

With the approaching end of the centenary of the Treaty of Lausanne, Berivan Khaled stressed, saying: "We denounce any treaty, agreement or deal that has been concluded at the expense of peoples and their legitimate aspirations for freedom and democracy, and we appeal to international forces and all international and human rights organizations and advocates of peoples' freedom to support the legitimate rights of the Kurds and their desire to achieve a just peace and peaceful coexistence.

In the conclusion of her speech, the co-chair of the Executive Council of the Autonomous Administration of NE Syria, Berivan Khaled, called on the Kurdish people in all parts of Kurdistan and in all corners of the earth with its organizations, institutions and leaders to stand together and overcome all intra-disputes to thwart the schemes hatched against them and undermine their rights, and she said, " The struggle for freedom is a demand and an irreversible path, and that the Autonomous Administration with its various components will not allow the repetition of a new "Lausanne" or any other similar treaty or agreement.
