​​​​​​​International Forum about Treaty of Lausanne kicks off

A while ago, in the city of Hasaka, the work of the International Forum on the Treaty of Lausanne, which was concluded in July 1923, was launched, sponsored by the Rojava Center for Strategic Studies (NRLS), under the title "Lausanne: Correcting Paths and Regional Stability and Security Issues".

More than 150 personalities, including politicians, jurists, and researchers on the Middle East, from Kurdistan and other countries, are participating in the forum, as well as a delegation from the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria, headed by the co-chair of the Executive Council of the AANES, Berivan Khaled, and representatives of political parties and civil society institutions, reserch centers in the region, and media institutions.

The activities of the first day of the forum, which is organized for two days, began with standing a minute of silence in honor of the souls of the martyrs, and delivering an opening speech on behalf of the NRLS, by a member of the administrative Body, Rakan Sheikhi, who welcomed the participants, touched on the purpose of the forum and said: "The goal is Shedding light on the treaty and agreements that were concluded at the expense of the Kurdish people, the suffering of this people from those agreements, and the issues left behind that are still pending to this day, as well as to push the concerned authorities to reconsider those agreements, restore the rights to their owners".

While the forum continues, with the speech of the AANES, delivered by the co-chair of the Executive Council of the Autonomous Administration, Berivan Khaled.

During its first day, the forum will witness a cinematic presentation on the Treaty of Lausanne and the crimes resulting from this treaty, a photo exhibition on the repercussions of the treaty, and 3 dialogue sessions.

On the second day, the participants will discuss "the current situation of the Kurds and the challenges they face; ways to confront the war of extermination targeting the Kurdish people; how to bypass Lausanne and the optimal solution for the Kurdish issue and the region".
