SDC's statement read:

"The Syrian Democratic Council welcomes the decision of the United Nations General Assembly to form an independent institution concerned with revealing the fate of the missing and forcibly disappeared over the course of 12 years of the Syrian crisis. We hope that this decision will contribute to alleviating the suffering of the Syrians, ending their crisis."

The resolution adopted by the General Assembly by 83 votes in favor, 11 against and 62 abstentions, including 13 Arab countries, indicates positions that came in conjunction with the Arab movement aimed at resolving the Syrian crisis.

We congratulate this decision, which came as a result of strenuous efforts made by human rights and humanitarian institutions that worked over the years of the Syrian crisis to reveal the fate of more than 100,000 people, according to estimates by non-governmental organizations.

We highly appreciate that the issue of the Syrian people has become one of the priorities of the international community and the serious desire to solve it, while certain countries are still working to manage the Syrian crisis, tampering with its security and stability, inciting violence and a culture of hatred, and supporting terrorism and extremism, as happened in the recent Astana meeting.

We in the Syrian Democratic Council welcome this decision and express our full readiness to provide all kinds of support for all endeavors that end the Syrian crisis and alleviate the suffering of the Syrians.

The Autonomous Administration had previously issued a solution initiative and a decision to prosecute ISIS members. This trial is capable of revealing facts, including the fate of the missing.

We also call on the international community to take these initiatives seriously, and we affirm that the fate of the missing and disappeared.

We believe that there is no way to solve the Syrian crisis except through the participation of all Syrians without exclusion or discrimination of any party, and adherence to UN resolutions and implementing them.
