Damascus forces trade fire with Turkey’s mercenaries in countryside of Idlib, Hama

SOHR stated that this morning the mercenaries of "Al-Fateh Al-Mubin" targeted with heavy artillery shells and rocket launchers, positions of the Damascus government forces on the axes of Jurin and Na'ura Jurin in the western countryside of Hama.

On the other hand, the Damascus government forces shelled with heavy artillery the vicinity of the village of Al-Ruwaiha in the Jabal Al-Zawiya area in the southern countryside of Idlib.

For its part, an agency affiliated with the Damascus government said, "Terrorist organizations in Idlib, northwestern Syria, bombed with mortars and drones the town of Jurin and its surroundings in the Al-Ghab Plain in the countryside of Hama, and that the damage was limited to material." This comes after a bloody day of Russian shelling and raids that hit several areas in Idlib and Jisr al-Shughour, leaving dozens of dead and wounded.

The Ministry of Defense in the Damascus government announced yesterday that its forces, in cooperation with the Russian Air Force, "destroyed the headquarters and warehouses of terrorists and sites for launching drones in Idlib countryside, including weapons, ammunition and drones, and eliminated dozens of terrorists and wounded others."

The ministry indicated that "among the dead were a number of leaders of terrorist groups, including Abd al-Karim Abu Dawood al-Turkistani, Saif Allah Abu Abd al-Haq al-Turkistani, Mustafa Sheikh al-Sit, Abd al-Rahman Saadoun, Abu Karrar, Muhammad Saeed Nasuh, Radwan Ma'tarawi and Mahmoud Sheikh al-Hara."

It is noteworthy that the so-called "de-escalation zone" witnessed a major escalation from June 21 until Sunday evening, whether by ground bombardment or Russian warplanes on the one hand, and the targeting of the Turkish occupation mercenaries (by ground bombardment and drones) on the other.

According to the Observatory's documentation the death toll within the "de-escalation" zone has risen to 235 since the beginning of 2023, during 157 operations that varied between attacks, sniping operations, clashes, and targeting. More than 179 people were injured in the aforementioned operations.
