Over recent massacre, K. Star presents 5 demands to UN

The Kongra Star Information Committee prepared a file on the Turkish occupation state’s attacks, and its targeting of female leaders in the model of the Autonomous Administration and the military forces.

The file discusses murder of three officials of the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria on June 20, 2023," after they were targeted by a drone on the road linking Tirbespî - Qamishlo.

It refers to the killings in a legal and political context", and offer discussions "to take the necessary measures to defend human rights and uphold international law."

The file draws attention to the first targeting by the Turkish occupation state with a drone against the region, on June 23, 2020, and its massacre of three members of Kongra Star (Zahra Barkal, Haboon Mulla Khalil, and Amina Wesi), in the village of Halinj in the city of Kobani.

Since the beginning of this year, the Turkish occupation state has carried out 31 operations using drones, which led to the martyrdom of 48 people, including 13 civilians, and the wounding of 38, including 12 civilians, according to the file.

It stated that the Turkish occupation had entered in recent weeks a "new phase" of its escalating attacks against the Autonomous Administration, adding, "Since June 12, Turkey has expanded its drone attacks in NE Syria, targeting 35 sites with more than 35 shells, which caused martyrdom dozens of residents.

The most recent of which was the targeting of the car of the co-chair of the Qamishlo Canton Council, Yusra Darwish, the co-chair of the council Lyman Shweish, and member of the council Furat Toma, which led to their martyrdom and the injury of the co-chair Gabi Shamoun, during a tour of the civil councils in NE Syria.

The file revealed the identities and detailed information about the victims of the recent attack:

Yusra Darwish: Yusra Muhammad Darwish was born in 1972 in Amuda in Qamishlo canton. She participated in the women's movement in NE Syria from its inception. She struggled for general social change and for organizing social and political activities in the canton, especially social organization. She was the co-chair in Qamishli canton , when she was targeted by the Turkish drone led to her martyrdom.

Lyman Shweish: Known as Rayhan Amuda, Lyman Shweish was born in 1968 in Amuda in Qamishlo canton. She has been a political activist for more than 38 years. With her revolutionary spirit and her struggle for these goals, she went to Manbij in 2016 after liberation from ISIS mercenaries. She carried many duties in building the democratic system there, during her life's journey, and represented the women's movement of the Kongra Star in the southern Kurdistan region, and finally became the co-chairman of the province. Qamishlo, and was martyred as a result of the targeting of a Turkish drone.

Furat Daniel Toma: Born in Iraq in 1979, he was the member of the Syriac Union Party, and worked with the Democratic Autonomous Administration for the peaceful coexistence of the various social components.

The file indicated that the Turkish occupation state, with its attack, aims to "destabilize the region, weaken efforts to fight ISIS, endanger the indigenous population, and destroy the democratic project of the Autonomous Administration in NE Syria."

It pointed out that these attacks are intensified after the Autonomous Administration initiative to try foreign ISIS mercenaries.

At the end of the file, a number of demands were mentioned, namely:

* Members of the International Coalition to fight ISIS and the international community must stop the Turkish state's aggression against the Autonomous Administration and the Defense Forces of NE Syria.

* Prevention Turkey from launching a new military attack.

* The airspace of NE Syria must be closed to the war plans of the Turkish state and to armed and unarmed drones.

* Hold Turkey accountable for all its war crimes.

*Turkey must immediately withdraw from the occupied territories.
