Popular discontent in Qamishlo, its countryside over Turkish attacks

In the context of the reactions against and rejection of the genocidal attacks carried out by the Turkish occupation state against NE Syria, thousands of components in the districts of Qamishlo district went out in mass demonstrations, during which they shouted slogans expressing the extent of the people's discontent about targeting citizens.

The last air attack on June 20, during the Astana meeting, caused a massacre, as a result of which the co-chair of the Qamishlo Canton Council, Yousra Daroush, the co-chairman of the Council, Lyman Shweish, and the council member, Furat Toma were martyred, and the co-chair of the Qamishlo Canton Council, Gabi Shimon, was injured.

Gîl Agha

Under the slogan "Women's organization is best response to the attacks of the occupation," the people of Gîl Agha district and its villages, members and members of civil and military councils and institutions, the Council of Martyrs' Families, and Kongra Star members came out in a demonstration, which started from Martyr Masum Square in the center of the district.

It roamed the main district neighborhoods, amid chanting slogans glorifying the martyrs, "The martyrs are immortal", "Yusra, Lyman and Furat do not die", "Long live the people's resistance".

After the demonstrators toured the main neighborhoods, they returned to the starting point, so that the demonstration turned into a mass gathering, during which the demonstrators observed a minute of silence in honor of the souls of the martyrs.

After that, the administrator in the Gîl Agha district schools administration, Nouzha Seif El-Din, recalled the martyrs of freedom, and consoled the families of the martyrs of the recent massacre.

Nouzha stated that "the Turkish occupation targets the citizens of NE Syria to break the will of the resistance peoples," and explained, "The attack is basically targets the project of the democratic nation in the region."

She called for "organization of ranks and solidarity to thwart the extermination plans that are being pursued against the people of the region and to protect the people's gains and the project of the democratic nation."

In turn, the member of the Gîl Agha district council, Salih Safo, emphasized the escalation of the pace of struggle and resistance, and stressed the need for all components to join forces to remove the spies and agents of the Turkish occupation from the region to ensure victory and the goals of the martyrs.

Girê Legê

In the context of the reactions condemning the Turkish attacks, the people of Girê Legê district and members of civil institutions demonstrated.

The demonstrators who gathered in Martyr Khabat Square carried pictures of the martyrs Yusra Darwish, Lyman Shawish and Furat Toma, Kongra Star flags, and a banner reading "No to international inaction regarding the genocide committed by Turkish fascism against the Kurdish people."

The demonstrators chanted "Martyrs are immortal" and "No to the occupation" until they stopped at the women's roundabout in the center of Girê Legê district.

After standing a minute of silence in honor of the souls of the martyrs, the co-chair of the district council Zulfa Badro, confirmed that "the Turkish attacks aim to break the will of the components of the region."

She urged the people of the region, especially the women to strengthen their ranks in the face of the attacks targeting NE Syria.

Tel Hamis

In Tel Hamis district, hundreds of residents of the district and members of civil institutions also took part in a demonstration.

The demonstration started in front of the traffic building in the east of the district, the participants raised pictures of the martyrs, pictures of the leader Abdullah Ocalan, the flags of the Democratic Union Party (PYD), and the Kongra Star, and roamed the main streets in the district. Then the co-chair of the Tal Hamis district council, Muhammad al-Shammari, delivered a speech in which he denounced the treacherous Turkish attack that targeted the co-chair of the Qamishlo Canton Council, Yusra Darwish, and the co-chair of the council Lyman Shweish, and Council member, Furat Touma.

Al-Shammari affirmed that Turkey violates all moral and humanitarian standards, and disregards all international agreements."

In an explicit criticism of the position of the international powers towards the crimes of the Turkish occupation state, Al-Shammari said: "Without the green light that it got, and the approval of the UN Security Council towards the criminal acts, Turkey would not have dared to fire a single bullet at the people of NE Syria."

For her part, the member of Kongra Star in Tal Hamis district, Adhari Al-Faihan, explained that since the establishment of the Autonomous Administration and to the present day, the Turkish occupation state has been targeting vanguard and pioneering women in this administration.

She emphasized, "We, the women of Tel Hamis and NE Syria will continue march of our martyrs and their goals."

Tel Brak

In Tal Brak, hundreds of families, and members of civil institutions and councils, representatives of political parties, sheikhs and clan dignitaries gathered in front of the automatic bakery south of the Tal Brak district to go out in a demonstration, holding pictures of leader Abdullah Ocalan and banners reading "Women's organization is best response to the occupation's attacks."

The demonstration roamed the main street in the district, amid chanting slogans, "There is no life without the leader," and "Women are a life of freedom." Amidst the complete closure of shops and markets.

After the demonstrators arrived in the center of the district, they stood for a minute of silence, and then Khawla Al-Nasser, the administrator in the Tal Brak district council, delivered a speech in which she demanded the physical freedom of the leader Abdullah Ocalan, and emphasized that his freedom is "the only guarantee of democracy in the region."

Al-Nasser stated, "The leader Abdullah Ocalan believes that brotherhood and coexistence is the true history of these peoples, not the history of the state and power."

She vowed to escalate the resistance, and strengthen the struggle until victory is achieved, and she said: "We will remain in the squares and fronts, and we will follow the approach and philosophy of the leader until achieving his physical freedom."

In turn, the administrator of the Women's Kongra Star in Tel Brak, Raghad Al-Hussein, denounced the international silence regarding the crimes of the Turkish occupation state, and stressed, "We will struggle and resist together as components until defeat the Turkish attacks ".
