AANES renews its readiness for dialogue with Damascus government, rejects Russian accusations

The Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria renewed its readiness for dialogue with all parties in order to achieve a solution and stability in Syria, and called on Russia to play a positive and effective role in the matter of dialogue with Damascus instead of making unfounded accusations and using that as a card and a kind of political consumption.

This came in a statement by the Department of Foreign Relations in the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria, during which the department said: "We firmly affirm that we in the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria enjoy full independence in our Syrian national decision and we are not betting on anyone's decision. We refuse to involve us in files, contentious issues and conflicts between international and regional powers.”

It also said, "We believe in it, and we look forward to Russia playing a positive and effective role in the matter of dialogue with Damascus, instead of being arbitrarily accusing us of unfounded facts and using this card every time as a form of political consumption, nothing more, which is not consistent with the Russian role." The text of the statement reads as follows:

"Despite all the efforts made by the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria and its full keenness to achieve a peaceful Syrian solution that guarantees the rights of all Syrians through real and meaningful dialogue, but it seems that there are still those who insist on reading the Syrian reality in isolation from the existing situation, and there is complete disregard the role and positions of the Autonomous Administration in this context.

Today, we followed the statements of the Russian Deputy Foreign Minister, and before that the statements of the Foreign Minister and his talk that Washington is preventing our dialogue with Damascus, as well as describing the Autonomous Administration as a separatist project. In the same context, we reaffirm, as we have always been, that we were and still are ready for dialogue with all parties, including It achieves a solution and stability, including Damascus, and we have called more than once for Russia to play a guarantor role in this framework, but the Russian Foreign Ministry knows very well the nature of the existing project in the north-east of Syria, and it is the most interacting with the Autonomous Administration, as well as the positions of the Syrian regime that are not open to change. And the development of a serious dialogue, not to mention the extent of its insistence on not accepting the changing reality in Syria.

We, in the Department of Foreign Relations, reaffirm our full readiness for dialogue with any party to serve Syria and its interests, and that the statements of the Russian Foreign Ministry do not represent the reality of the situation, especially since they come hours before the Astana meeting, which raises our suspicions, which confirms that they may come in the context of appeasing other parties from the Astana group, creating an impression hostile to the Autonomous Administration, and thus coming up with hostile and negative outputs against us.

We also firmly affirm that we in the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria enjoy full independence in our Syrian national decisions and we are not betting on anyone's decision. We refuse to be involved in files, contentious issues, and conflicts between international and regional powers. We have a Syrian national project in which we believe, and we look forward to Russia playing a positive and effective role in the matter of dialogue with Damascus instead of being accused of unfounded accusations and using this card every time as a kind.
