Girê Spî Canton Council condemns Turkish attacks on NE Syria

The Girê Spî Canton Council condemned the recent Turkish attacks on NE Syria, in a statement, and called on the international powers and guarantor Russia to intervene and restrain Turkey from its attacks on the AANES areas.

The statement, which was read in the district square by the deputy of the co-chair of the Girê Spi district council, Hazaa Muhammad, was attended by dozens of members of the institutions and committees of the district and Ain Issa district.

At its beginning, the statement denounced "the Turkish attacks and barbaric shelling on all areas of the frontlines, starting from the countryside of Aleppo and passing through Manbij and Ain Issa to the countryside of Jazira, which caused the martyrdom and injury of dozens, including women and children".

In its statement, the Council condemned the targeting of the infrastructure and service aspects of citizens, including schools, hospitals, water and electricity stations, and others, which international laws prohibit targeting even in war conditions.

The Council pointed out that the Turkish occupation is working to complete what it did not achieve before the elections by destabilizing the security of the region, striking its stability and displacing its people to facilitate control over it, taking advantage of the silence of international powers and the Russian guarantor turning a blind eye to these violations and attacks.

At the end of its statement, called on "the international powers and Russia, the guarantor, to assume their responsibilities and stand up to the Turkish violations, which, if they continue, will cause the loss of more innocent civilian lives".
