Mass and popular movements continue in the Middle East to demand the freedom of leader Abdullah Ocalan, as many observers consider dialogue with Ocalan to be the best solution to all the problems of the Middle East, as he presented solutions to most of these problems through his ideas.

Dr. Fernaz Attia told ANHA’s agency: "Everyone who reads Ocalan and believes in the justice of his cause and is convinced of his philosophy moves voluntarily to introduce his thought and seeks to clarify the truth before Arab, regional and international public opinion, to introduce Ocalan's case and expose the false propaganda promoted by some regional and international powers about it."

She pointed out that: "The movement of Arab intellectuals in the case of Ocalan is taking place through seminars, conferences and collective workshops, as well as articles and research on Ocalan's thought, as well as popular initiatives and getting signatures to demand his release."

Fernaz Attia revealed: "The Arab initiative for Ocalan's freedom, at the beginning of its launch, collected nearly 90,000 signatures of academics, jurists, intellectuals, media professionals, and politicians from most Arab countries to demand Ocalan's freedom and put pressure on the Turkish state to release him."

Obstacles and restrictions

She pointed out that: "Movement is always by popular efforts or through civil society organizations without the presence of any official or governmental effort as a result of political considerations governing the regimes' relations with the Turkish state."

The Egyptian researcher called on Arab intellectuals to search for new mechanisms and think outside the box to introduce the case of leader Abdullah Ocalan, recognizing at the same time that there are difficulties and obstacles facing the movements and activities carried out by some in the case of Ocalan, whether in terms of restrictions from some social media or the establishment of some countries and regimes. By canceling some meetings and events on its territory in response to pressure from the Turkish regime.

And she stressed: "The necessity of coordination between all initiatives supporting Ocalan's freedom and striving with all force to present the issue before international forums and global human rights organizations with a well-studied strategy and plans to review moves and initiatives and evaluate their results so that the move is in a scientific and studied manner to achieve the desired results."

She pointed out that: "The Arab initiative is still carrying out many activities to introduce the issue of Ocalan and to form a popular public opinion in favor of the leader's freedom, by presenting, clarifying and simplifying Ocalan's ideas and his political and social project for the simple man in all Arab countries to realize the importance of these ideas in achieving his freedom." Fernaz Attia believes: "The just solution to the Kurdish issue begins with the achievement of physical freedom for Ocalan," noting that the most important characteristic of the leader Ocalan is that he did not talk about a state for the Kurds in his project, but rather touched on the project of a nation that includes all the components of the Middle East with its various cultural, ethnic and religious components.
