First conference of Martyrs' Families in NE Syria kicks off

A short while ago, in the city of Hasaka, the work of the first conference of the Council of Martyrs' Families in NE Syria was launched, under the slogan "With the spirit of the martyrs, we will develop the people's revolutionary war and guarantee the freedom of Leader Apo."

1000 delegates and representatives of the Autonomous Administration institutions of NE Syria, including Kurds, Arabs and Syriacs, took a part in the conference, in addition to the participation of the member of the General Command of the Syrian Democratic Forces, Newroz Ahmed, and the head of the Democratic Union Party, Asia Abdullah, and the co-chair of the Democratic Society Movement, Roken Ahmed, and Gharib Hasso.

The work of the conference began after observing a minute of silence in honor of the souls of the martyrs, with an opening speech delivered by the co-chair of the Democratic Union Party, Asia Abdullah.

Confirming that it (isolation) aims to exterminate the Kurdish people and melt their culture and all the components of the region.

Asia Abdullah referred to the resistance of the people of NE Syria, describing it as historic, and continued: "Since the beginning of the revolution in NE Syria, thanks to the sacrifices of the righteous martyrs who paid dearly and preciously in order to protect the gains of their revolution, and thanks to the resistance of our martyr comrades who refused to surrender to the enemies and defended their land.

She also touched on the Turkish occupation's attacks on the region, and said: "The Turkish occupation and its mercenaries want to weaken the will of the components of NE Syria, impose authoritarian thought, and plunder our lands that were watered with the blood of the righteous martyrs."

At the end of her speech, Asia Abdullah renewed the pledge to the martyrs to follow in their footsteps, fulfill their hopes and protect the gains of NE Syria, stressing that "all words do not describe the greatness of the righteous martyrs, even praise does not fulfill their greatness and sacrifices that wrote the history of peoples."

The work of the conference continues with speeches of the deputy co-presidency of the Executive Council of the Autonomous Administration in NE Syria, Hamdan al-Abed, and the member of the General Command of the Syrian Democratic Forces, Newroz Ahmed, then Kongra Star's Ramziya Muhammad.

After that the conference will discuss the  internal system of the Council of Martyrs' Families, and elect a co-presidency for the council.
