Abo al-Gheth: Syria accepted that its return to ASL would be part of solution

The Secretary-General made it clear that the step of returning Syria to the League of Arab States is an endeavor to facilitate the process of resolving the crisis in Syria, and that the Syria accepted that its return to the Arab League is part of the context of the solution.

The Secretary-General of the Arab States League, Ahmed Abo al-Gheith, said in statements to the Saudi "Al-Arabiya" network, that the decision to return Syria to the Arab League does not mean the resumption of relations between all Arab countries and Syria.

The Secretary-General stated that the step of returning Syria to the Arab States League is an Arab effort to facilitate the process of resolving the crisis in Syria.

And added that "Arab countries have offered to help the Syrian government to reach a settlement to the crisis".

He pointed out that global events accelerated the decision of returning Syria to the Arab League.

And revealed that the Arab League has not stopped communicating with Syria during the past years, and has facilitated the arrival of medical aid to Syria during several health crises.
