AANES hands over New Zealand child to his country's government

The handover came during a visit of a delegation headed by the New Zealand government's special consular envoy, James Monroe to the regions of NE Syria.

The delegation was received by the Deputy of the Joint Presidency of the Department of External Relations of NE Syria, Rubel Baho, the member of the Administrative Body in the Department, Khaled Ibrahim, and the representative of the Women's Protection Units YPJ, Lana Hussein.

According to the Department of Relations website, the meeting  discussed the situation of NE Syria in particular, especially the challenges facing the Autonomous Administration, "terrorism", ISIS mercenaries in detention centers, need to prosecute them to achieve justice for the victims, and situation of ISIS families in the camps.

The New Zealand delegation was briefed on the recent initiative launched by the Autonomous Administration to resolve the Syrian crisis, and the positive echoes of the initiative among large segments of the Syrian people and elite politicians and opponents of various components.

As well as shedding light on the continuation of crimes in the occupied Syrian regions, including murders, kidnappings, arrests and rape, and the Autonomous Administration's assertion that "all these practices are carried out in a systematic and deliberate manner, and their aim is to force the indigenous people in those areas to migrate and change their demographic composition.

The visiting delegation was also put in the picture of the continuation of the Turkish attacks on NE Syria, through daily artillery shelling, and the targeting of citizens and fighters of the Syrian Democratic Forces by Turkish drones.

The Autonomous Administration stressed the importance of the international forces assuming their responsibilities by providing the required support to the Autonomous Administration towards the danger posed by ISIS and the conditions of ISIS mercenaries in detention centers and their families inside the camps.

The Autonomous Administration affirmed its continued cooperation with New Zealand, and all countries that have citizens and children in the Autonomous Administration areas.

According to the Department of Relations website, Mr. James Monroe said that the New Zealand government recognizes the sacrifices made by the Autonomous Administration in the fight against ISIS, in addition to supporting and rehabilitating the affected people, and that New Zealand recognizes the exceptional role played by the Autonomous Administration in providing care in the humanitarian field.

James Monroe thanked the Autonomous Administration for its assistance in the process of repatriating New Zealand citizens.

At the end of the meeting, an orphan child with New Zealand citizenship was handed over from the families of ISIS mercenaries, according to an official handover document between the Autonomous Administration and New Zealand.
