In addition to its suffocating siege on al-Shahba canton, the Damascus government checkpoints deployed on the road between al-Shahba canton and the city of Aleppo impose royalties on people coming from Aleppo.

There are 6 checkpoints of the Damascus government forces on the road that connects al-Shahba district to the city of Aleppo, at a distance of 12 km. They are for "State Security - Fourth Division - Air Intelligence - Military Security - Police - Customs."

The people of al-Shahba, who hold a pass paper at the Damascus government checkpoints, especially the "State Security" checkpoint, go to the city of Aleppo to meet their basic needs, as a result of the suffocating siege imposed on them.

Even personal bags are taxed

The people are forced to pay royalties to the members of the Damascus government checkpoints for the belongings they carry, even personal bags are subject to taxes. The minimum royalty is 20,000 syrian pounds.

He had to pay 20,000 SP, as a royalty; In exchange for passing through the checkpoint, he explained to ANHA agency: "I paid 20,000 to the Fourth Division in return for installing a battery for my car."
