​​​​​​​Daoud: Normalization meetings are to foil AANES project

The Secretary-General of the Future Syria Party, Siham Daoud, stressed the need to involve the democratic forces in the talks and meetings held to resolve the Syrian crisis, and noted that the recent meetings in order to normalize relations between the Damascus government and the Turkish state do not serve the aspirations of the Syrian people.

On the 4th of April, a meeting was held between the Iranian, Russian and Turkish deputy foreign ministers and the Damascus government. The meeting resulted in a public statement issued by the Russian Foreign Ministry, in which it stated: “The deputy foreign ministers of Russia, Iran, Syria and Turkey agreed during the quadripartite meeting to continue contacts.”

In a statement to ANHA’s agency, Siham Daoud noted that: "A series of meetings were held in all international forums, whether the Astana, Sochi and Geneva meetings, but they did not produce any results to resolve the Syrian crisis."

Siham Daoud pointed out that the aim of these meetings is "not the interest of the Syrian people, nor a solution to the Syrian crisis, as these four regimes gathered together are in crisis, and each of them imposes its conditions on the other in order to preserve its interests and gains in the Middle East."

She pointed out that the Turkish goal of its rapprochement with the Damascus government is to give itself international legitimacy and the legal aspect of its occupation of the Syrian lands, and Iran aims to strengthen its presence and keep the Damascus government in power, and with regard to Russia, it seeks to maintain a foothold in the Middle East region.

Siham Daoud emphasized that "the goal of Turkey and the Damascus government in the first place is to strike the Autonomous Administration project, since the Autonomous Administration has become a cornerstone for resolving the Syrian crisis, and it fully represents the aspirations of the Syrian people and the values of the Syrian revolution and democratic transition in Syria."

Siham Daoud explained: "We hope that there will be a Syrian dialogue, and that there will be serious international sponsorship of United Nations resolutions, especially its resolution 2,254 in order to solve the Syrian crisis."

Regarding the talk about inviting Syria to participate in the summit of Arab countries to be held in the Saudi capital, Riyadh, next May 19, and to return Syria to the League of Arab States, the Secretary-General of the Future Syria Party said: "The Syrian regime cannot return to the Arab League in its old form and in the form in which it came out." the Syrians to change this regime,” and called on the Arab League and the Arab states: “to have a major role in resolving the Syrian crisis, and not restoring order to the Arab League.”

Siham Daoud stressed, "The United Nations and human rights organizations must take serious and vigorous steps to resolve the Syrian crisis, and that there be a legitimate representative of the democratic forces on the ground, represented by the Syrian Democratic Council and the Autonomous Administration, as well as the political forces that follow the approach of democracy in the meetings held by order to resolve the Syrian crisis.

Siham Daoud confirmed that the Autonomous Administration project is the best way to solve the Syrian crisis.
