​​​​​​​Leader Abdullah Ocalan: Only path of heroic liberation can form path of salvation

On the occasion of the championship week, which falls on March 21-28, we share with you here part of the assessments made by leader Abdullah Ocalan in 1995 in this regard.

On the occasion of the tenth anniversary of the martyrdom of our comrade Agid (Masoum Korkmaz), we remember the month of March and the week of heroism that falls on the 21-28 in particular, with a true revolutionary definition.

Heroism has been adequately defined in the PKK literature, and martyrdom has been clearly defined. So we will not repeat them. The great emergence of the PKK was heroic with these characteristics and definitions. The emergence of many heroes is clear evidence of this.

Any ordinary person inspired by the PKK can immediately become a hero, because the essence of the PKK is heroism. The process is heroic in its beginning, heroic as it progresses towards the end, and truly heroic towards martyrdom. He revealed to friend and foe by thousands of examples that this was the case. And it should have been. The PKK would not have pursued any other method than heroism. No other method could have allowed him to develop.

Heroic departure and heroic continuity are an objective fact

We can prove this historically and socially. Our truth as a people must be evaluated in terms of our historical or everyday characteristics, for the path that could be determined for him (the people) was only the path of heroic liberation. Because there are many personalities in their history and present who cause humiliation and stinginess and call for condemnation. Therefore, they must be fought in a high, exceptional and unparalleled manner, and this is what is called the style of heroism. This is what can lead to its success and the desired result. I do not invent this, but if we want to supplement the dialectics of history and the dialectics of our lives with revolution, it must be like this. For the heroic departure and the heroic continuity are an objective reality.

If you want to win, you have to join with bravery

That is why the PKK cannot adopt any normal, unilateral and superficial method. This can only be the method of other organizations and it does not lead to any victory. And this approach has this vital value: If you want victory, you must join this party and engage in the struggle that it wages heroically. No post other than that can express the truth.

They are the real members of the PKK

When we remember our martyrs as heroes, what should we understand first? They are the true members of the PKK, they are true heroes, because they continued their lives according to these heroic features of our party and because they showed that strength. So a person who knows how to die can also be considered a hero. But something else can be said. Any death (commando operation), especially if it was premature and at an inconvenient time, expresses negligence. And whether that was because of the martyrs themselves or others, it is a shortcoming and a mistake. It is considered a religion as much as it is considered honorable.

We see in the martyrdom of our comrade Muhammad Khairy Dormoush, who is considered one of the great martyrs, the most prominent example of this. He says in his martyrdom that he owes, he says in his activity that he has a great shortcoming, and that is why he walks towards martyrdom while he suffers for this. This expresses exactly what we want to say. His martyrdom is honorable. how can this be? Salvation is achieved through the correct fighting style of the PKK.

Therefore, the first lesson we can learn from remembering our martyrs is; it is to choose death when it is necessary and when it imposes itself badly or when the enemy imposes it through a life of humiliation; A cheap way of salvation, when betrayal is imposed in life and when there is no choice, just as Mazloum, Kamal Peir and Khairy did. Choosing death in this case is the only honorable end to life. Otherwise, there is no honorable work. In this case death is acceptable, but only in this case.

Mazloum's activity is the most honorable activity in life

In the event that our comrades accepted death, there was no other way to live but to surrender. No one should put another definition of martyrdom and death. When can death be accepted? When there is no other way. In this case, this is considered a commando attack operation, as you are besieged from all directions and you prefer death to surrender, so the Mazloum operation is not a suicidal operation, and the other activities represented by the death fast are also not a suicidal operation, rather they represent the most honorable activity in life, and martyrdom must be seen in PKK like this.

Take advantage of a small opportunity to implement an action

I point out again that, if there is even the slightest possibility of living in the mountains, among people and in many spheres of life; You will find great opportunities for development. It was also pointed out once again that Mazloum sought to celebrate Newroz with a match. What does this mean? It means seizing a small opportunity, one inch away, to carry out an action. There is no possibility to implement another activity. What does death fasting mean? There is no other possibility to implement another activity, like a candle that burns itself. What other lessons can be drawn from Khairi's brief speech? I repeat; They were in the worst stage that Amed prison had witnessed. They had no other chance to fight, even if it was an inch. If given the opportunity, they would definitely act differently. We have explained the dimensions of the heroic steps; By what definition, what step, what efforts, what meaning and what organizational approach and what approach of activities, war and responsibility are carried out. This is the way of not dying cheaply and not dying owed to anyone.
