​​​​​​​Janders's IDPs call on SDF, HRE to liberate Afrin

Today, the displaced of Janders district in Afrin canton organized a protest to denounce the massacre committed by the mercenaries of "Ahrar al-Sharqiya" against four citizens of the district on the eve of Newroz.

Hundreds of the displaced from Afrin, especially the displaced from Janders district and the families of the four martyrs, gathered in the center of Favin district in al-Shahba canton to participate in the protest.

The protesters carried olive branches and banners that read, "Afrin is free, Turkey is out," "Our belonging to Afrin is the identity that we never compromise on," "Afrin will be liberated with the blood of the martyrs."

The protesters chanted slogans saluting the resistance of the people of Janders against injustice and tyranny, glorifying the sacrifices of the martyrs, denouncing the silence of the international powers and the crimes of the Turkish occupation, "Janders is not alone", "The martyr is alive and does not die."

After that, the Janders displaced made a statement, which was read in Kurdish by the student Zilan Sido, and in Arabic by teacher Abeer Hamadeh, the text read:

"Five years ago, the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries of Afrin, and the series of crimes against our people in Afrin did not end. Kidnappings, killings and looting have become associated with these terrorist groups, and after the earthquake that struck the region and Janders, the mask that Turkey and its mercenaries were hiding fell off."

 "The massacre that took place on the eve of Newroz, March 20, in which 4 citizens were martyred at the hands of the mercenaries of "Ahrar al-Sharqiya" and with direct support from Turkish intelligence. to make way for the implementation of their settlement projects and make Afrin a breeding ground for terrorism and a scene for their crimes, but the people of Afrin, who can no longer tolerate their crimes, rise up against their executioners, demanding accountability for these criminals for the terrorist factions to leave Janders and Afrin.

The statement added, "our heroic people in Janders in particular and Afrin in general, to take caution and not be drawn into the tricks of the Turkish intelligence, its mercenaries, and the Kurdish National Council, which is trying to reduce the horror of the crime, remove it from its true course, invest it for partisan goals."

The statement called for "an end to these crimes against the indigenous people of Afrin, by ending the occupation and returning Afrin to its people," calling on the United Nations and human rights and humanitarian organizations to carry out their humanitarian, moral and legal duties to protect the people of Afrin from systematic massacres and work to remove the Turkish occupier and his mercenaries from Afrin.

 It also called on "the Syrian Democratic Forces, the People's and Women's Protection Units, and the Afrin Liberation Forces to liberate Afrin from the abomination of the occupation."

The vigil ended with chanting slogans saluting the Resistance of the Age and the resistance of the people of Janders.
