​​​​​​​Kobani's Newroz...Resistance, unity must be escalated in spirit of Newroz

The activities of celebrating Newroz continue on the Mishta Nour Hill in the southern outskirts of the city of Kobani, as after lighting the Newroz fire and standing a minute of silence in honor of the souls of the martyrs, the co-chair of the Executive Council of the Autonomous Administration of the Euphrates region, Muhammad Shaheen affirmed their support for the uprising in Rojhelat led by women.

He said, "Thousands of years ago, the peoples of the Middle East united and defeated the most oppressive empire with the vanguard of Kawa Al-Haddad, and today Kawa Al-Haddad is an example for us in the endeavors to achieve freedom and break the chains of slavery."

Shaheen explained that Newroz is morals, culture, history and struggle.

He concluded his speech by saying, "With the leadership of the leader Abdullah Ocalan and the project of the democratic nation, we will make Newroz a culture for all humanity and the peoples of the world."

The co-chair of the Democratic Society Movement (TEV-DEM), Roken Ahmed, blessed "Newroz freedom, peace and brotherhood for the leader Abdullah Ocalan and the freedom fighters who defeat the Turkish occupation state in the mountains of Kurdistan and the freedom fighters in NE Syria who are fighting ISIS."

Ahmed affirmed, "In order to achieve the freedom of his people, the leader Abdullah Ocalan, who has been arrested for 24 years, did not surrender, and was determined to turn Imrali into a school for humanity. They wanted to destroy our free society in the person of the leader Abdullah Ocalan, but the leader decided to follow the path of freedom and struggle."

Ahmed said, "We are today in the holy place that saved humanity from a great nightmare, in Kobani, which defeated ISIS after it attacked Mosul and Şengal. In Kobani, whose people said no to injustice, and fought with the support of Bakur Kurdistan until achievement victory."

Ahmad concluded her speech by stressing, "We will turn the Newroz of resistance into Newroz of union and an end to injustice and massacres."

UTE GEDIG, the mother of the martyr Andok, also gave a speech in which she expressed her happiness at coming to Rojava and knowing the place where her son was martyred.

She confirmed that the martyr Andok proved that the Rojava revolution and the thought of the leader Abdullah Ocalan is a humanitarian issue.

The martyr Andok is one of the international fighters fighting in the ranks of the SDF, of German origin, who was martyred in 2019 during the Turkish occupation state’s attack on Serêkaniyê.
