Ali al-Bandawi: Turkish presence is  threat to Iraqi national security

The occupying Turkish state has launched massive attacks on the areas of Başûr (southern Kurdistan) since April 17 last year, which led to the displacement of hundreds of citizens from their villages, in addition to killing and wounding dozens of people.

The attacks of the Turkish state on Iraqi lands have escalated, especially on Şengal in recent times. On February 27, the Turkish state bombed a car in Şengal with a drone led to martyrdom two commanders of the Şengal Resistance Units.

On the first of March, a drone belonging to the Turkish occupation state once again bombed a car in the center of Şengal. As a result of the attack, Sherzad Shemo Qasim, one of the commanders of Izidkhan Asayish, was martyred.

Yesterday, another Turkish drone  bombed a car near the village of Qara Hanjir on the borders of Chamchamal district, as a result of the attack, a citizen was martyred and two others were wounded.

About the attacks of the Turkish occupation state on Iraqi lands, the member of the Parliamentary Security and Defense Committee in the Parliament, Ali al-Bandawi, spoke to Roj News Agency.

Al-Bindawi said "The Turkish presence inside the country is a source of concern and a threat to the security of Iraq," stressing that "the Parliamentary Security and Defense Committee is following up on this issue and it is considered one of the most important files."

He denounced targeting a vehicle in the village of Sidan in Chamchamal district in Sulaymaniyah," adding that "Turkey continues to violate Iraqi sovereignty."

He continued, "We submitted a request to the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, aiming to hold an expanded security meeting to discuss the Turkish attacks, because silence about them makes Turkey go further."

Al-Bandawi stressed, "The Turkish presence is a source of threat to national security."
