March 8 events start in NE Syria- updated

Thousands of women and families in Qamishlo, Aleppo, Kobani, Manbij and Tabqa cantons took part in marches. On the occasion of International Women's Day, which falls on the 8th of March.

Under the slogan "Women, life, freedom, towards women's revolution," many marches were launched to celebrate International Women's Day, which coincides with today's date (March 8).

In Qamishlo canton, the march of the city of Qamishlo started from the Syriac-Assyrian Martyrs Roundabout (Siyahi roundabout).

In Amuda district, it started from Martyr Jihad Square located in the middle of the district, while in Tirbspiya district, it started from in front of Kongra Star Center in the district.

In Çil Agha district, it started from Martyr Masum Square, in Girke Lege district, it started from Martyr Khabat Square in the west of the district, and in Tal Koçer district, it started in front of Commander Abdullah Ocalan's garden located in the middle of the district, and in Derik district, it started from Freedom Square.

As for the Tal Hamis district, the march started in front of the Kongra Star Center in the district, and in the Tal Brak district, it started in front of the oven roundabout located in the south of the district.

In the city of Kobani, thousands of residents, most of them women, gathered on the outskirts of the Kobani forest and held Dabkeh circles to the sound of revolutionary songs, and set off in a march heading towards the outskirts of Jarabulus.

As for the city of Manbij, the march started from in front of Al-Furat Hospital to Al-Wadi Street, with the participation of hundreds of Manbij residents, women and men.

In Aleppo, the march began with the participation of hundreds of men and women from various components, wearing folkloric dress and carrying pictures of female martyrs walking in the footsteps of freedom, in front of the Syrian Revolutionary Youth Movement center located in the western part of Sheikh Maqsoud neighborhood in Aleppo.

In Tabqa, the march started with the participation of hundreds of city women, members of civil and military institutions, families of martyrs and political parties, from the first district.

In Raqqa, hundreds of women, members of civil and military institutions, political parties, and families of martyrs participated in the march that started from the Panorama Roundabout located in the southwestern of Raqqa, amidst the participants raising pictures of the martyrs of freedom, and pictures of the leader Abdullah Ocalan, as well as carrying banners that read: "With women's resistance, life flourishes and we defeat terrorism" and "Women are life and freedom, we are fighting the women's revolution."

The march is scheduled to roam the streets of the city of Raqqa to stop in the city center in the Firefighting Square, where a speech was delivered by the Zenobia Women's Gathering, and the unveiling of the statue of Arab women that was erected by the Women's Committee in the Raqqa Civil Council.
