​​​​​​​On International Women's Day, candles are lit at shrines of martyrs

 The shrine was attended by members of the Women's Council in the Council of Martyrs' Families, the Council of Martyrs' Families in Raqqa, the Syrian Women's Council, the Zenobia Women's Gathering and political parties.

 After standing for a minute of silence, Ibtisam Al-Ahmad, a member of the Women’s Council in the Council of Martyrs’ Families in Raqqa, delivered a speech in which she said: “In this pure place and in the presence of our martyrs, we extend the finest, freshest and most fragrant expressions of congratulations to the basis of happiness, to the overflowing sources of love and tenderness to all  the women of the world, especially the mothers of the martyrs, and the internationalist leader Abdullah Ocalan, leader of humanity who called for women's revolution and freedom.

 She added, "Women's Day, which falls on the eighth of March, is a celebration of liberation from societal slavery. Women are ambassadors of peace and love. All the best for that ambitious spirit. Thanks to every ambitious woman who endures the hardships of this world."

 Ibtisam Al-Ahmad concluded her speech by saying: "May God bless all women and Happy New Year. You have the right to rejoice on this occasion, because International Day is a special day for you."

 Then the mothers and wives of the martyrs, and members of the women's councils, lit candles at the tombs of the martyrs.
