Blockage excerbates earthquake victims conditions in Sheikh Maqsoud

An earthquake measuring 6.3 on the Richter scale struck, on Monday evening, the city of Antakya in Turkey, and affected several areas in Syria.

In addition, the people of Aleppo, including the residents of the Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafieh neighborhoods, took to the streets, fearing of any aftershocks. While the Martyr Khaled Fajr Hospital in Sheikh Maqsoud neighborhood received a number of cases of fear, panic, and low pressure, resulting from shock, in addition to two cases of fractures and bruises.

One of those with fractures is a child named Hamza Battal (12 years old), who was injured as a result of the roof stones of his house falling on him, when he was trying to get out of the building where he suffered a fracture in his arm.

Akram Nasser Battal, the cousin of the injured child, Hamza Battal, said, "We were gathered in the house of my uncle, Hamza's father, on the second floor of the building, and when the earthquake occurred, we all rushed outside for fear that the building would fall, whereas Hamza was broken his arm.”

He continued, "We took him to the hospital, and it became clear that he needed an operation, and the operation was successful, but the lack of the necessary medicine affects his condition ."

Nasser pointed out, "The medicine that Hamza needs is very expensive, with a value of 35 thousand, and it is not available in the Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafieh neighborhoods, as a result of the siege imposed by the Damascus government."

The number of injured in the neighborhoods of Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafieh as a result of the recent earthquake reached 9, including two women and a child, they are; Jamal Qasim (40 years), one of the prisoners (38 years), Sheikh Mus Omar (38 years), Amin Aliko (45 years), Fawzia Al-Kanjou (23 years), Ahmed Bakr (53 years), Heaven Muhammad (40 years), The child Hamza Battal (12 years old) and Abdul Rahman Bakr (22 years old).
