Most prominent sayings  about leader Ocalan by international personalities

 Intellectuals, writers, jurists, and scholars from all over the world have referred, through previous statements to our agency and other media outlets, to the strict isolation of leader Abdullah Ocalan and the methods of resolving humanitarian issues, and stressed the need to ensure his physical freedom as soon as possible.

 We share with some statements of these intellectuals, writers, jurists and scholars.

 'His ideas inspired Rojava's gains'

 The American linguist, Noam Chomsky, stressed, in an interview with Ugur Politika newspaper on October 30, 2022, the necessity of liberating the leader Ocalan from this "inhuman" captivity immediately and said: "Although his ideas inspire gains and developments in Rojava, they are at the same time  constitutes a threat to the illegitimate powers of all the dominant regimes in the region."

 On January 25, 2023, lawyer Jock Kalewart, one of hundreds of lawyers who submitted a request to meet the leader Ocalan, said: "We want politicians to abide by the decisions of justice. The European Court of Human Rights ruled twice that the current stage against Abdullah Ocalan is illegal. That is, it is not permissible to arrest  Ocalan under conditions of absolute isolation in Imrali.

 'Europe has not succeeded in the issue of human rights'

 The Irish parliamentarian in the Council of Europe, Paul Gavan, said: "Ocalan represents the true face of humanity and democracy. We, in the United Left Movement, will continue our call for justice. We will seek to mobilize Ireland as well. Europe has not succeeded in the cause of human rights, so we will continue to support the  Sinn Féin party."

Debbie Bookchin, secretary of the Emergency Committee of the United States of America in Rojava and the daughter of the philosopher Murray Bookchin, indicated that this situation in which the basic rights of the leader Ocalan are taken away should be rejected. She pointed out that the leader's physical freedom is very important for the future of the Middle East and said: "Ocalan represents  "The voice of the Kurdish people's faith and spirit. It is also a key figure in establishing peace, as he struggles for world peace. Mr. Ocalan's model of democratic confederation is a good roadmap for us to build an environmental and feminist life, in which equality, democracy, justice and freedom prevail."

 'Global public opinion must act'

 Nelson Mandela's lawyer, Siraj Desai, expressed his dissatisfaction with the lack of any information about the leader Ocalan and indicated that they also saw Mandela suffering from the worst conditions and said: "International law does not accept this, it gives you the right to communicate during trials and during sentencing as well. This situation also raises concern for world public opinion.

 'a real leader'

 The Chairperson of the Turkish Civil Rights Commission in the European Union and Professor at the Norwegian University of Bergen, Kariana Westrem, told our agency: "Abdullah Ocalan best represents the best solution for the Middle East. He guarantees peace and democracy, and peace can prevail in Turkey through it. Peace can also prevail in the region through dialogue."  Turkey should sign an agreement with him.

 "Ocalan represents the voice of the Kurdish people's faith and spirit"

 Mahatma Gandhi's grandson, Ayla Gandhi, pointed out that the Turkish government should think about the freedom of leader Ocalan, and indicated that he is over 70 years old, but unfortunately he is still imprisoned.

 'Ocalan's ideas will liberate all peoples'

 The former Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of South Africa, Ibrahim Ismail Ibrahim, who was arrested on Robben Island with Nelson Mandela for 15 years, indicated that the struggle of leader Ocalan for freedom is not only for the sake of the Kurdish people, but for the sake of all peoples in Turkey and the Middle East, and he said: "Like a Mandela who fight for a non-racist society in which everyone enjoys their freedoms, Ocalan's leadership and his ideas will also liberate all peoples.

The model of leader Ocalan in Afghanistan

 One of the administrators of the Afghan RAWA organization stated that no one can isolate the model of leader Ocalan and said that they believe that they can silence the revolutionary movement and the Kurds by eliminating leader Ocalan, but they are wrong.

 The administrator continued her speech by saying, "Mr. Ocalan is a revolutionary who branched out among the peoples. We are grateful to him for his resistance to the fascist Turkish regime and the importance he attaches to a woman's role in the revolution."

 'This arrest will not be able to subjugate the people'

 For her part, the Armenian researcher Nubar Malkonian said: "We must remove the leader of the PKK from these conditions of strict isolation. None of the Guerrilla leaders deserve to be imprisoned. It is the enemies of peoples' efforts and freedom who deserve such places."

 Professor at the University of Cambridge, Thomas Jeffrey Milley, noted that leader Ocalan's ideas pose a threat to the current corrupt regime and said: "Abdullah Ocalan's insistence and his indomitable spirit give courage to freedom fighters all over the world."

 The journalist from the Mayan people, Anastasia Mejia, said that they will not be able to stop the social struggle by arresting the leader Ocalan, and continued, saying: "This arrest will not be able to oppress the people and stop them. Our struggle is advancing day by day."

 "Ocalan's productions should be studied instead of the classic Marxist sayings"

 Writer Raul Zebecchi from Uruguay described the arrest of leader Ocalan, despite the spread of his model and the study of his products and works in many universities, as "a very painful case."

"Studying Ocalan's productions, rather than Marxist classics, can help us build new societies without those oppressed by the dominants. This can contribute greatly to Ocalan's freedom," Zebeci said.

 Author, artist and translator Janet Bell pointed out that leader Ocalan is the only real partner for peace talks with Turkey and said: "Ocalan, who has been imprisoned for years, must be released immediately, and peace talks with Turkey must begin again."

 'He must be released'

 Professor Emeritus at the University of Hamburg, former parliamentarian and expert in international law, Norman Baish, stated that the aim of arresting leader Ocalan in Kenya and kidnapping him to Turkey is to weaken the Kurds who are struggling for self-rule and obtaining the right to self-determination, recognition of Kurdish identity, human dignity, and an equal life.  He said, "Although Ocalan's presence among his people through his books and writings is far beyond Turkey's borders, the inhumane practices to impose isolation on him require not only changing the conditions of detention, but also his release."

 The founding chair of the Department of Anthropology and Social Change in San Francisco, Professor Andrei Grubic, revealed that the movement that was inspired by the leader Ocalan has often shown its commitment to the principles of human rights, equality, non-discrimination and tolerance, and said: "He applied these principles wherever he found the opportunity, so this must be supported and developed by everyone."

At the same time and in this context, the struggle of women against the patriarchal system for the sake of freedom emerges from it."

 The Arab thinker and writer, Elhami Al-Meligy, indicated that the plot against the leader Ocalan will remain a disgrace to humanity, whether due to participation in it or remaining silent about it. He said: "Ocalan will become a symbol of love and dignity in the face of lies, deceit and games."
