Damascus govt announces final toll of earthquake victims in its regions

A 7.7-magnitude earthquake struck at dawn on Monday, February 6, north Kurdistan, Turkey, and north and central Syria. It also affected the regions of north and east Lebanon, and its aftershocks spread throughout the east Mediterranean region; leaving thousands of victims and great destruction so far.

The death toll and the injured rose in the areas occupied by the Turkish occupation state and its Syrian mercenaries, as statistics in those areas indicated that 2,274 people lost their lives and 12,400 were injured, and the number is expected to increase significantly. Because there are hundreds of families under the rubble.

While the Minister of Health in the Damascus government, Dr. Hassan al-Ghobash, announced to a media outlet the final outcome; For the victims of the earthquake that affected the areas controlled by his government, which amounted to 1414 people who lost their lives and 2357 injuries.

It is worth noting that the Ministry of Health's report includes the areas controlled by the Damascus government only, and does not include the rest of the Syrian regions.

There has also been no change in the outcome of the Health Body of NE Syria, as the number of victims and injured remains the same in north and east Syria, which reached 6 victims and 57 injured.
