AANES hands over woman and 2 children from ISIS families to Slovakia

According to the department's official website, the day before yesterday, February 12, 2023, a Slovak delegation headed by "Igor Bokoin," Director of the Consular Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic, visited Foreign Relations Department.

He was received by the deputy co-chair of Foreign Relations Department, Rubel Baho, member of the administrative body, Khaled Ibrahim, and member of the YPG Relations Office, Lana Hussein.

The 2 sides exchanged views regarding the general situation in Syria and in NE Syria in particular, after the devastating earthquake that struck Turkey and affected Syria, and the challenges facing the Autonomous Administration in terms of political, economic, humanitarian and security aspects.

Rubel Baho pointed to the failure of the international powers, and their failure to assume their responsibilities towards the families of ISIS mercenaries, explaining that the AANES called on all countries to take responsibility for their citizens.

While Igor Bokoin expressed the Slovak government's thanks to the Autonomous Administration for receiving it, to restore "our citizens" from the camps of NE Syria.

At the end of the meeting, a woman and 2 children of Slovak nationality were handed over from the families of ISIS mercenaries, according to an official handover document between the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria and the State of Slovakia.
