Protest in Shahba condemns government's blockage, hampering relief aid

The demonstration started shortly from Al-Ahadath district roundabout of the district with the participation of hundreds of displaced people from Afrin and the people of Shahba to denounce the unjust siege imposed on the district by the Damascus government forces, and it prevention aid from entering Shahba, Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafieh neighborhoods.

The demonstration is heading towards the checkpoint of the Damascus government forces stationed at the entrance to Shahba Canton in al-Ahdath district, amid chanting slogans denouncing the siege and the international silence about the systematic practices of the Damascus government against the people.

The protesters carried banners that read: "Damascus prevents aid to the afflicted people in Sheikh Maqsoud and Shahba", "No to politicizing humanitarian actions", "Where are the humanitarian organizations and democratic countries?", "The siege policy increases the humanitarian catastrophe for the people", "We demand international intervention to open the crossings," “The Damascus government besieges the Syrian people in Syria.”

It is scheduled that a statement will be made to the public opinion upon the arrival of the demonstrators at the checkpoint of the Damascus government forces.
