Popular initiative extends period for collecting signatures for Ocalan

 The Popular Initiative for North, East and Syria, in coordination with the Syrian Initiative for the Freedom of Leader Abdullah Ocalan, launched a campaign to collect signatures on the 22nd of last January, to lift the isolation of the leader Ocalan, under the slogan "The Peoples of NE Syria demand the lifting of the isolation of the leader Ocalan and bringing about his freedom."

 The signature campaign, in which more than 892,000 people have participated so far, was scheduled to end on February 15, which marks the 24th anniversary of the international conspiracy.

 As a result of the people and institutions of NE Syria being preoccupied with collecting aid for those affected by the earthquake that struck Bakur (Northern Kurdistan), Turkey and Syria, which has so far left thousands of victims and great destruction, the People's Initiative for Northern and Eastern Syria decided to extend the period specified for the campaign to collect signatures until the end of this February.

 While the spokesperson for the Initiative, Perwin Youssef, revealed to our agency that the extension of the campaign period came with the aim of the participation of all those wishing in the campaign to lift the strict isolation of the leader Abdullah Ocalan, and to create opportunities for him to meet with his lawyer and his family.
