AANES's delegation visits quake-hit families in Sheikh Maqsoud, Ashrafieh

On Saturday, a delegation from the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria and the Democratic Society Movement went to tents and temporary shelters in the Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafieh neighborhoods to inspect the conditions of those affected by the earthquake.

The delegation included the co-chair of the Executive Council of the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria, Berivan Khaled, the deputy co-chair of the Executive Council, Hamdan al-Abed, and the co-chair of the Democratic Society Movement, Gharib Hesso.

During the visit, the affected families talked about the difficulties they face in light of the "Fourth Division" checkpoints that prevent the entry of relief materials into the two neighborhoods.

In turn, the deputy co-presidency of the Executive Council of the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria, Hamdan al-Abed, affirmed that "the humanitarian and moral mission is to stand by our people in this ordeal that has affected all Syrians."

He pointed out that the Autonomous Administration has expressed its willingness to support all of Syria, whether the areas of the Damascus government or the Syrian north, according to the specified capabilities.

He stressed that "the Autonomous Administration stands in solidarity with all Syrians, wherever they are, wishing those in charge of the crossings and politicians to leave aside political differences, take the humanitarian situation seriously, and allow the passage of aid."

For her part, the co-chair of the Executive Council of the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria, Berivan Khaled, called on the international forces and concerned parties to work in order to put pressure on the Turkish occupation and the Damascus government to deliver aid to those affected.
