On Monday, a 7.4-magnitude earthquake struck northern Kurdistan, northern and central Syria, and affected the regions of northern and eastern Lebanon, as its aftershocks spread to the eastern Mediterranean region, leaving hundreds of victims and great destruction so far.

Today, the Ministry of Health of the Damascus government reported that 111 people lost their lives and 516 were injured in the cities of Aleppo, Hama, Latakia, and Tartous as a result of the earthquake, as an indefinite outcome.

In the context, an agency affiliated with the Damascus government reported that Bashar al-Assad is currently chairing an emergency meeting of the Council of Ministers to discuss the damages of the earthquake that struck the country and the necessary measures.
