People's Municipality in Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafieh neighborhoods suspends its services

 The siege imposed since the beginning of August of last year on the neighborhoods of Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafieh continues to cast a negative shadow on the facilities of life to paralyze the service in the two neighborhoods.

For keeping the cleaning process the People's Municipality in the Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafieh neighborhoods transferred its stock of diesel, which was intended for the implementation of public projects, to waste transportation work.  With the aim of maintaining the cleanliness of the two neighborhoods and preventing the accumulation of garbage, which leads to the spread of diseases and epidemics.

 A few waste transport mechanisms operate, while the People's Municipality is forced to complete its work through municipal workers manually.

 In this regard, the administrator in the People's Municipality in the Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafieh neighborhoods, Fatima Haider, said that "the reserve stock in the two neighborhoods is not sufficient to carry out all service work," noting that "our work was limited to the important projects and the continuity of the work of the mechanisms; to collect rubbish".

 The municipal works need about 9,590 liters of diesel fuel and 1,297 liters of gasoline as a monthly revenue, according to Fatima Haidar, while she confirms that the "Fourth Division" affiliated with the Damascus government;  Do not allow their fuel allocations to enter the two neighborhoods.
