Rafik al-Salihi: investigations continue into Turkey's use of prohibited weapons

The Turkish occupation state continues to increase attacks on Başûr Kurdistan with internationally banned chemical weapons, amidst Iraqi, Arab and international silence, all eyes are on the Iraqi Parliament, which represents the people to prevent such abuses that are rejected and criminalized by all the laws.

It was scheduled to hold a parliamentary session to discuss the Turkish attacks on Iraq. Including the bombing with chemical weapons, and forcing the Iraqi government to respond to these blatant abuses that claimed the lives of dozens of unarmed citizens and destroyed the infrastructure and agriculture in the northern regions of the country.

On this, the representative of the coordination framework, Rafik Al-Salihi, said, "The Iraqi parliament is continuing to hold this session, but there are some reasons that led to its postponement."

" For reasons including the crisis of the high exchange rate of the US dollar against the Iraqi dinar, and Washington's pressure on economic, financial and monetary policy, in addition to the short legislative recess that was in Parliament, all of which led to the postponement of the session," Al-Salihi added, in a statement to Roj News Agency.

Al-Salihi made the point clear, "We at the Iraqi parliament with session being held as soon as possible, since these attacks are unacceptable, affect national sovereignty and contribute to the killing and displacement of our Iraqi people."

The deputy in the Iraqi parliament, Soran Omar, had called for the government of Muhammad Shia al-Sudani to investigate the Turkish regime's use of chemical weapons against the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) in southern Kurdistan.

Omar said, in an official letter addressed to Al-Sudani, that "no official position has been taken regarding the attacks launched by Turkey on Iraq and southern Kurdistan," noting that "the First Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives had already sent a letter to the Foreign Ministry demanding the formation of an investigation committee on the use of chemical weapons by Turkey, but no decision has been taken in this regard.

Worth to note that the Turkish occupation army uses types of heavy and light weapons in Iraq, including armored vehicles, tanks, missiles, helicopters, several types of explosives and light weapons, in addition to internationally banned chemical weapons.
