Muhammad Shaheen's statements come on the eighth anniversary of the liberation of the city of Kobani from ISIS mercenaries on January 26, 2015, after fierce battles that lasted (134) days, by the People's and Women's Protection Units, in defense of the city.

ISIS mercenaries launched an attack from three sides on the city of Kobani on September 15, 2014; seeking to occupy the city and take over the entire Syrian-Turkish border, which was a vital supply line used by ISIS; To build bases of "terrorism" in Syria and Iraq.

Shaheen blessed the memory of the liberation of Kobani on the Kurdistanis and all of humanity, and pointed out that "the Kobani resistance has a popular and ideological base. For decades, the Kurdish people have been deprived of their political rights, and have been subjected to policies of genocide and smelting. In the resistance of Kobani, they have returned to achieve results that they could not achieve throughout history."

He stressed that "such a victory is not only a military victory, but rather a victory based on the community's belief in its cause and values, and the yearning, like any other society, to live in freedom and democracy."

The goal is to overthrow the revolution'

Shaheen saw that "Kobani's resistance brought many positive things. This resistance thwarted the enemies' policies of obliterating the identity of the Kurds and preventing their cause from appearing to international public opinion during the past years. This resistance also led to unite of the Syrian components and the forces of freedom and democracy, and we saw how the Kurdish forces supported Kobani.”

Referring to the grand scheme that ISIS was a tool for its implementation, Shaheen said, "The force that attacked Kobani was not at the level of a single organization, but rather an organization that received support from ruling regimes in the Middle East, and many hostile forces pushed ISIS to attack Kobani, and the goal It was not only the occupation of the city, but it broke the will of our people who built themselves a democratic administration and established a revolution to achieve freedom and democracy. The goal was to overthrow this revolution, but the result was the opposite of what they wanted.

Shaheen explained that "the victory of the Kobani resistance was the first step in which the entire world got acquainted with the Kurds, their cause, and the ideology of the democratic nation, just as the resistance showed the world and the oppressed and enslaved peoples that these peoples, if armed with the will and belief in the cause, justice, democracy and freedom, will achieve victory, this is what became clear with the Kobani resistance when hundreds of young men with light weapons stood facing the largest arsenal of weapons possessed by ISIS and forced the world to rally around Kobani.

He reaffirmed that the victory in Kobani "is not only a military victory, but that the Kobani resistance united humanity around its values, and the gains achieved in Kobani turned into historical and moral gains, as this victory became a victory for all peoples."

Shaheen stressed, "Once again, it is our duty to fight a historic resistance, and then we can win global support. We believe in this, but our great faith is our people. If they fight their resistance in the spirit of Kobani's resistance, then we will gain the trust and faith of the world again and win in the face of regimes such as the AKP." We will protect the gains that we have achieved with the blood of our martyrs, and we will generalize the experience of the democratic nation implemented in North and East Syria."

He added, "We are confident that our people will resist more than before, if we are threatened, and the world will once again rally around Kobani and stand against the attacks against it."

Shaheen emphasized that "the revolution of North and East Syria is the revolution of the people in the face of power, and in Kobani this thing was proven, how the democratic forces united in the face of ISIS, which represented the forces of power and domination, so all peoples must now also unite in the face of all authoritarian regimes that societies around the world have been suffering from it for decades.

Shaheen said at the end of his speech: "However the forces of power unite among themselves over the people, the people must do so as well. This is our call on the occasion of the anniversary of the liberation of Kobani from ISIS. The defeat of the revolution in North and East Syria is a defeat for all peoples and a defeat for their values, and this will allow the state system to Imposing its hegemony over society, and we hope that the people of North and East Syria will unite in the spirit of Kobane's resistance and stand by their forces, the Syrian Democratic Forces, to thwart all plans directed against our people.
