​​​​​​​Foreign Relations receives official French government delegation

 The meeting took place in the department's building in the city of Qamishlo, and within the French delegation, the official for crisis affairs in the French government, "Stephan Romatet" and an accompanying technical delegation, were received by the co-chair of the Department of Foreign Relations, Badran Çiya Kurd, the deputy co-presidency Fener Al-Kait, and members of the administrative body Khaled Ibrahim and Gulistan Ali according to what was published on the official website of the department.

 The co-chair of the Department of Foreign Relations reviewed the recent escalation launched by the Turkish state since October 19 of last year, which increased its pace to include targeting on a daily basis, starting from the areas of Tal Rifaat all the way to the city of Dêrik.

 While Badran Çiya Kurd noted that the targeting operations launched by the Turkish state have become systematic and target the infrastructure in addition to its direct targeting of cities and civilians inside cities.

 Regarding the rapprochement between the Damascus government and the Turkish occupation state, Çiya Kurd indicated: "This rapprochement is contrary to the interests and aspirations of the Syrian people, in addition to the fact that the Syrian-Turkish rapprochement comes in the context of fighting a segment of the Syrian people, stressing that this rapprochement will serve as an undermining of efforts for a political solution in  Syria, and torpedoing international efforts and the path of UN Resolution 2254.

 He also stressed the need to support the stability of the region from the political, economic and humanitarian aspects as a result of the continuous Turkish bombing and drought in recent years. He said: There must be a clear support plan for the region, taking clear positions towards the forces that destabilize stability and expanding the framework of joint action to consolidate the pillars of a sustainable political solution.

 For his part, the Crisis Affairs Officer in the French government, Stephane Romatet, indicated that the French government is closely following the developments of the situation in northern and eastern Syria, stressing that the French government will continue its support for the peoples of northern and eastern Syria, and that the French government will also have its presence in the region until the end of anti-government terrorism operations.

 While he mentioned that the threat of ISIS is still looming on the horizon, and that France is closely following the counter-terrorism operations taking place in the region.

 Romatet shed light on the recent operation that took place in the Jazira region against ISIS cells, and said: "The situation in north and east Syria is worrying."

 Pointing out that there are needs in the regions of north and east Syria and in various sectors, including water, health and agriculture, and work will be done to feed these sectors and provide the necessary support in this regard.

 The meeting concluded with an affirmation by both sides of the need to continue efforts to combat terrorism, and an emphasis on the need for counter-terrorism efforts to go beyond the military and security level, to include areas of restoring stability and security to the region and creating a suitable climate for living in the societies that were liberated from ISIS.
