​​​​​​​Department of Foreign Relations rejects Lavrov's accusations of AANES

The talk of the co-chair of the Department of Foreign Relations of the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria, Bedran Çiya Kurd, came during news published on the official website of the department, following statements made by Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov yesterday in which he accused the administration of leading a separatist project, as he said.

Çiya Kurd said: “amid at insisting, determination and dialogue within Syrian national framework, despite holding a Russian mediation for dialogue between Damascus Government and AANES, we are extremely gutted from the Russian Foreign Minister Lavrov’s statements in describing our project as separatist project, and we are exploited by parties, and that Russia understands "Turkey's concern about the Kurds," these attitudes grant Turkey to increase its escalation against our areas, pushing to spread destabilization in Syria and support Turkey's approach and policies that are hostile to the  AANES and the SDF to liquidate them.

He added, "It also creates suspicion among the Syrians about the possibility of it being once again a 'victim' of Turkish deals with other parties in Syria, and therefore all this leads to a weak focus on achieving agreement and understanding among the Syrians, and leads to projects to break up the Syrian unity and develop division projects for which Russia bears primary responsibility."

Çiya Kurd affirmed, "Our accusation of secession, the establishment of a state, and the like" is incorrect and far from reality, because our project and goal is clear, as Syria needs its reality to be dealt with with an "open mind." We also affirm that Russia has an important and pioneering role in Syria, and can contribute. In creating good climates for a solution and stability, with our constant assertion that we "reject" any accusations against us about questioning our Syrian national role and our endeavors towards achieving stability and understanding, and that we are the owners of our Syrian decision and we are not interested in any need to turn around other parties that have their own orientations that Russia is well aware of. Russia understands our cause and our just rights in Syria."
