Abd al Lahian's visit to Ankara comes before an upcoming visit by his Turkish counterpart, Chawish Oglo, to Washington, and after the Iranian Foreign Minister's visit to Beirut and Damascus.

Today, Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abd al Lahian is visiting the Turkish occupation state, where he will meet a number of officials to discuss the situation in Syria, as well as the recent negotiations between the defense ministers of Russia, Syria and Turkey.

Sources told Al-Arabiya Network that Abd al Lahian's visit comes as a continuation of what he started in Damascus after his meeting with President Bashar al-Assad and his foreign minister, Faisal al-Miqdad.

Al-Miqdad said after his meeting with his Iranian counterpart in Damascus: "It is not possible to talk about restoring normal relations with Turkey without removing the occupation".

Al-Miqdad added that any meeting between President Bashar al-Assad and the Turkish leadership depends on "removing the causes of conflict."
