K Star Council discusses organizational, economic and environmental issues during its annual meeting

The Kongra Star Council held its annual meeting over two days (15-16 December), in the presence of 100 members of the Council and spokespeople of its committees, at the Kongra Star Center in the city of Qamishlo.

The meeting, which was not announced and closed to the media, shared today the axes it discussed and the proposals that came out of it on the official Kongra Star website.

The meeting began with a minute's silence; In honor of the souls of martyrs of the freedom revolution.

The annual meeting of the Council focused on several main axes, are (the political situation, the organizational situation, the status of women, the status of leader Ocalan, and an explanation of the work mechanism of the Kongra Star Council for the year 2022.)

During their explanation of the political situation in north and east Syria and the world, the participants clarified, saying: "The world; as a result of the Third World War, is going through a political, economic, social, cultural and environmental crisis, as the Middle East region has become a region of conflicts, while the people of the region become victims of this war."

The participants in the meeting referred to the policies of the Turkish occupation state, saying, "Turkey follows the method and policy of genocide against the Kurdish people, as it carries out brutal attacks against the Kurdish people, peoples of the region and their allies, and it also targets the Kurdish areas, the Guerrilla forces, and NE Syria."

And they added: "This war affects women more than others, as the greater the violence, the greater the pressure on women, but on the other hand, the opportunity for women's movements and organizations to rise up in the face of gender systems increases through struggle; as the Rojava revolution and NE Syria is led by an elite group of women."

And they continued: "Just as the popular uprising, led by women in Iran and Rojhelat Kurdistan, erupted with the killing of the Kurdish young woman, Gina Amini, at the hands of the Iranian authorities, as the uprising began and spread to the world under the slogan "Jin, Jiyan, Azadî (Women, Life, Freedom), and women work through platforms for the common struggle of women."

While the participants praised the implementation of the Co-Chairing system in NE Syria, "it is considered one of the achievements of women and a historic step in world history."

The participants affirmed, "The isolation is part of the general policy of the global system," and indicated that this isolation "violated all rules and human rights laws," stressing that "everyone should rise up in order to achieve the physical freedom of leader Ocalan.

The meeting also discussed the organizational level of women, where the participants indicated, "Women in the region are still victims of the mentality and traditions of society, this, indicates the existence of weaknesses in the work of women. And women must protect their achievements and raise the level of their struggle."

And the annual meeting of the Kongra Star Council came out with a number of proposals, most important of which is the necessity of organizing women in all fields.
